In 2017,the China-India Donglang incident showed that the development of the relations between the major countries in the construction of the “The Belt and Road”is crucial to the smooth progress of follow-up construction. As large developing countries with strong economic and political power in the Asia-Pacific region and even in the world,China and India's economic and trade cooperation has attracted attention from countries along “The Belt and Road” initiative. This article believes that India selectively participates in“The Belt and Road” initiative and construction, that is,economic appeals to promote India's participation in “The Belt and Road”initiative, but India has always maintained a vigilant negative attitude toward the initiative and construction. There are complementary factors promoting the complementarity between China's manufacturing industry and India's service industry. At the same time, there are negative factors such as historical legacy issues,third-party interference, and political and economic interests. The fundamental reason for these negative factors to play a role lies in the low degree of strategic mutual trust between China and India.Through empirical analysis, the article concludes that the degree of dependence on trade between China and India has decreased before and after the construction of “The Belt and Road” initiative, and the impact of changes in trade cooperation between China and India on India has been significantly greater than that of China. In the face of economic downturn,“The Belt and Road” initiative provides China and India with an opportunity to deepen the level of cooperation, broaden the scope of cooperation, and increase the dimensions of cooperation. Both sides should increase strategic mutual trust as a means to achieve strategic cooperation, science and technology, and finance. The cooperation between the people and the people, and many other aspects of cooperation, promote economic and trade development, stimulate domestic economic growth, and provide demonstrations for the developing countries to develop trade and economic cooperation among large countries along the route.
