With the continuous development of global economy,the demand of energy and electricity has increased largely since the beginning of 21^st century.Huge amount of energy consumption not only leads exhaustion of fossil energy,but also brings serious environmental and ecological problems.Under this background,renewable energy generation technologies including wind and solar and as well as large scale energy storage technologies have developed tremendously.In the year of 2008,R energy storage corporation?or‘R corporation'for short?that focuses on flow battery energy storage technology development and industrialization was established.After almost 10 years'development,R corporation has made some breakthroughs in its technology and production process,and has successfully delivered dozens of energy storage demonstration or commercialization projects.As famous and popular as Sumitomo Electric Industries Ltd.of Japan,R corporation has become a world leading developer of flow battery energy storage technology and products.However,due to the slow development of large scale energy storage industry in the past years,stable but high system cost,especially a tremendous increase in bulk raw material price this year and development of other energy storage technologies,the company is confronted with some challenges.With its current internal and external resources,how to adjust and optimize its strategy and ensure its sustainable long development becomes much meaningful to its key benefits related parties and flow battery energy storage industry.This thesis will firstly introduce R corporation's current status,its technology specialties and the background and meaning of the research on its corporate development strategy.Through basic investigation and listing of existing research approaches,the major research approaches and roadmap will be described thereafter.Secondly,the thesis will refer to current global energy development situation and analyze R corporation's operational status and its resources through PEST approach.It will also analyze R's current strategy through Porter's Five Forces Model and SWOT analysis approach.After that,a new strategy option will be proposed through SWOT combination strategy analysis approaches.Finally,based on R's strategic vision and position,the thesis will present a strategy and its supporting measures that hopefully will benefit R's sustainable growth.In accordance with R's current situation,this thesis proposes a market-oriented diversification and differentiation strategy,including diversification of technology development,systematic products,marketing channels and financing.Detailed measures are not limited to management and distribution of research and investment risk,adjustment of R&D direction and market development channels,integration of up and down stream resources in order to deliver turn-key energy solutions and energy management tools.
