Job experience is a common selection criteria in the recruitment process, and it is generally believed that rich job experience can lead to higher performance.Along with the intensively change of technology and market environment, the complexity of jobs is increasing, which makes employees usually confronted with new problems. Some enterprise managers and scholars come to realize that the prior job experience cannot predict future performance effectively, however, the potential of adapting to changes and learning new things is the key to achieving high performance. On the basis of the existing literature, this study analyzes the influence of quantitative of job experience, qualitative components of job experience and learning potential on job performance, and the moderator effects of job complexity in this process, which is in order to enrich the relevant study on job experience, job performance and work characteristics,to deepen the understanding of job experience and to provide references of talent spotting for enterprises. This study mainly includes the following aspects:(1)theoretical research on job experience, learning potential, job complexity and job performance;(2)the measurement method of job experience, learning potential and job complexity;(3)the relationship between job experience, learning potential and job performance;(4)the moderator effect of job complexity on the relationship between job experience and job performance, and on the relationship between learning potential and job performance. This study testing the hypotheses by using empirical research, firstly, the initial questionnaire is pre-tested,and the final questionnaire is obtained after the initial questionnaire modified;secondly,in the formal research stage,286 valid questionnaires were collected, and the reliability and validity of the questionnaire were within the acceptable range;finally,on this basis, this study uses hierarchical regression analysis to test the hypothesis hypotheses. This study shows that:(1)in terms of the predictive effect of job performance, the quantitative component of job experience is the worst, the qualitative component of job experience is better, and the learning potential is the best;(2)the learning potential has a significant positive effect on task performance and contextual performance;(3)job complexity has a significant moderator effect on the relationship between relevance of experience and task performance, when job complexity is low, relevance of experience has a positive effect on task performance, and when job complexity is high, there is a significant inverted U-shape relationship between relevance of experience and task performance.
