A Study Of Thailand's Marine Economy Development

21st century is the century of ocean.Thailand has adjusted the marine strategy to promote the development of its marine economy.By analyzing the following four marine industries:marine fishery,marine transportation industry,coastal tourism and marine oil and gas industry,this paper has presented the achievements have been gained and the challenges now being faced in these four industries to the readers.Under the framework of One Belt and One Road,there exist many fields of marine economy that China and Thailand are possible to cooperate on.On the basis of consolidating the vested achievements,China and Thailand need to increase maritime connectivity and broaden the scope of cooperation in the area of ocean.The ultimate purpose is to seek greater development in marine economy of both two countries.Using the theory and method of marine economics for reference,this paper takes Thailand's marine economy development as the main tread,elucidates Thailand's marine economic development strategy and policy measures,analyzes the current situation of Thailand's marine economy in different industries and explores the possibility and prospect of Sino-Thai cooperation in marine economy under the guidance of One Belt and One Road.The article is structured as follows:Chapter 1,Introduction.Clarify the background and value of the topic,introduce the structure of the article and the main contents of each chapter,point out the innovations and deficiencies of the article.Chapter 2,Theory and Literature Review.Explain the definition of marine economy,introduce the division of the marine economy industries,sort out the theories of marine economics and review the related literature.Chapter 3,Thailand's Marine Economic Strategy and Government Measures.Discuss the historical changes of Thailand's marine economic strategy and analyze Thailand's latest marine economic development goals and relevant government policies and measures.Chapter 4,Development of Major Marine Industries in Thailand.This chapter is the main part of the article.It discusses the development of Thailand's marine economy in four industries which are marine fisheries,marine transportation,coastal tourism and marine oil and gas industry.Chapter 5,Challenges and Prospects of Developing Marine Economy in Thailand.Analyze the major challenges that the four marine industries are facing and prospect the future development of these industries.Chapter 6,Sino-Thai Maritime Economic Cooperation.Review the achievements made in the cooperation in marine economy between China and Thailand and prospect the cooperation in the Future.China and Thailand are linked by sea.With the proposal of "21st Century Maritime Silk Road" and the enhancement of interconnection between the two countries,the space for cooperation between China and Thailand in the fields of maritime safety,development and utilization of marine resources,trade and investment in marine industries,marine cultural exchange and marine scientific research has expanded.Sino-Thai maritime economic cooperation in the future will form a new pattern.Sino-Thai maritime cooperation shows the prospect of mutual benefit and win-win development.
