Investigation And Research On Bird Migration Channels In Hunan Province

In China,Hunan Province is on the eastern corridor through which the birds migrate,there are a great number of migratory birds going through Hunan Province in migrating season.While we had not got a systematic research about the corridor in south Hunan Province till the present moment,the paper did research into small-front migration corridor in south Hunan Province from the following three aspects:1·the field survey about the past ten"biras shooting points"in Hunan Province;2.the collection and reorganization about historic inventory data from 1998 to 2015;3.the satellite trackers' installation for migratory birds and the tracker data's analysis.And the research conclusions are reported as followed:1.With the field survey through the Black Hill of South Mountain,the Pingfeng Hill in Longhui County and Nanfeng valley of Lanshan County,the research finds that each of the three rallying points for migrating birds is located on the birds migration corridor in Hunan Province.In addition,the migratory birds always fly along with the valleys which are shaped by the mountains during the migration.So,we can infer that the migratory birds will move along with the valley when they face the mountain during their migration procession,which can be called the small-front migration corridor in Hunan migration corridor.2.Judging from the data back from the birds which were caught from Heishan Hill and installed satellite trackers,the migratory birds still flied along with the previous valley route,which proves that the birds would fly along the valley during their migration procession again,and affirmed that Heishan Hill Valley ensures a small-front migration corridor in Hunan Province.3.By the field geomorphic survey of the ten rallying points for migrating birds,we find that they have the similar terrains and landforms:all of the points are located in the valleys or have a V-shaped or Y-shaped mountain pass.The migratory birds often enter the valley small-front migration corridors through the mountain passes when they fly through Xuefeng Mountains,Nanling Mountains and Luoxiao Mountains,and that is the reason why it is easier for us to observe a large number of birds migrate at observation points in the valley.In conclusion,the paper preliminarily explored the small-front migration corridor in south Hunan Province,and it may be a reference for the deeper research of the birds migration corridor in Hunan Province.Besides,it can provided both scientific instruction and legislative basis for the protection of migratory birds in Hunan Province.
