Combining geological theories and computer technologies,3D geological modeling realized digital geological exploration and geological resource detection,which has great significant to geological resource management,mine analysis and the simulation of geological operation.The correct model computation and the fine 3D visualization of geological model are the two key points of 3D geological modeling,and they can guarantee the correct analysis and research on the geological data.This paper proposed algorithms to repair the 3D geological models who exist the topological information error or the normal vector error.To repairing the topological information error,the vertexes and edges where the topological error located on should be detected first.Then,repair the error by separate the vertexes or edges.To repairing the normal vector error,first,find the base triangle facet whose normal vector is correct by using the position relationships between point and polyhedron.Then,repair the normal vector of other facets based on the base facet.For the complexity and irregularity of geological models,it is difficult to mapping the texture on the surface of geological models.This paper put forward a texture mapping algorithm by dividing the model into three parts and mapping texture on the parts respectively.This algorithm focuses on the texture mapping of the side part of the models,and the mapping method is to break the side part who is a loop and unfold it to 2D plane,then map a 2D texture on the side part.At the last part of this paper,the repairing algorithm and texture mapping algorithm are all developed and integrated into the 3D geological modeling and simulation system.
