| In recent years,the aging of China’s population has been increasing,and the urbanization rate of the population has increased rapidly.At the same time,the decline in the birth rate and death rate of the population has resulted in a significant increase in the old-age dependency ratio,and the burden of child support has also gradually increased.In this case,the elderly’s living choices will be limited by various factors such as individuals,families and society.Elderly people do not live with their children and live independently(divorced or widowed).It is sometimes difficult to satisfy the elderly ’s willingness to live,which in turn affects their life satisfaction.From the perspective of living choice at this stage,there are relatively few studies analyzing the impact of living choice on the life satisfaction of the elderly in China.Models and methods for measuring the influence of living choice on life satisfaction are also commonly used by the ordinary least squares method.Error.It is not yet possible to provide an accurate theoretical basis for improving the life satisfaction of the elderly from the perspective of housing choice.Therefore,this article chooses to use data from the 2015 National Survey of China Health and Elderly Care(CHARLS)conducted by the National Development Research Institute of Peking University and the Chinese Centers for Disease Control,based on the Marginal Treatment Effect(MTE)method for Chinese elderly An empirical study of the impact of housing choices on their life satisfaction.The study found that living with children has a significant positive impact on the life satisfaction of the elderly.Further research found that the income and health status of the elderly are the main factors affecting the elderly’s choice to live with their children.Therefore,in order to meet the elderly’s willingness to live and improve their life satisfaction,the government should invest more energy to increase the stable income of the elderly and ensure the availability of medical services for the elderly.In terms of income growth,we can continue to improve the old-age insurance system,increase the proportion of people it covers,and increase it appropriately with economic development.In terms of guaranteeing the medical services of the elderly,the elderly medical services and medical insurance system should be improved according to the special needs of the elderly.Based on this,the community’s elderly care services should be optimized and the community’s functional role as the main place for social participation of the elderly should be enhanced. |
