The detection and measurement technique applied in the grinding refers to use the measurement instrument to get the size of work-piece in real time and pass the dimensional change to the controller,then control the grinding according to the signal made by the controller.With the increasingly development of grinding,the online detection and measurement technique at home and abroad has made a great progress in automation,measuring method and accuracy and so on.Grinding is one of the main machining methods in industrial production.In many cases it is also the last step,which has a direct impact on the final accuracy of the work-piece.Using detection and measurement technology can effectively improve the machining efficiency and the precision of the grinding in grinding process,thus it can also improve the production efficiency and product quality.Although the research on grinding has been on for nearly fifty years,there is still a great gap in the overall technology compared with the developed countries.Especially,little research has been done about the detection and measuring of grinding,so the development of its online detection and measurement technology is relatively slow.In this paper,we did some research about the detection and measurement technology in the process of grinding listed as follows:First,this paper does research on the multistage bilateral end positioning of contact end positioning in domestic CNC system.Tests are also conducted on three conditions of contact end positioning in a machine tool plant in Jiangxi province.Meanwhile,it comparatively analyzes the efficiency of grinding influenced by measuring end positioning and contact end positioning.Second,in 21-type CNC system of Central China,it analyzes the controlling process of using the radial instrument during grinding and studies the single instrument detection technology of the radial instrument detection technology by detecting.Modulating the work-piece coordinate origin through the radial instrument,it improves the accuracy of radial grinding.Meanwhile,in 8-type CNC system of Central China,it does research on the radial instrument detection technology by measuring.By BCD code from the instrument,it keeps track of the changes of the Work-piece diameter during grinding in real time.The third,based on the loss of the diamond tool,it analyzes the relationship among the material removal amount,the grinding wheel loss and the diamond tool loss.And it establishes the relational model,thus implementing high-accuracy compensation of the grinding wheel loss and the diamond tool loss.
