Akund fiber is a new type of natural cellulose fibers,which complies with the requirements of the ecological textile,and can grow in the conditions of harsh mountain and saline.If the akund fiber can substitute the cotton fiber and become mainstream textile materials,it can improve the use scope of land and will relieve the tension of the cultivated land effectively.Akund fiber performs well and has broad prospects for development.There are important meaning to research and develop the akund fiber,because it can realize the unity of ecological benefit,social benefit and economic benefit.As the research on the akund fiber nowadays is still in initial stage,some problems exist,such as the akund fiber artificial planting technology is not mature enough,the basic theory is not perfect,etc,that hinder the fiber from further developing.Therefore,the task facing to the textile workers is,strengthening the study on the theory and technology on basic performance and structure,and the correlation between the property of akund fiber and its growing conditions.This paper studied the structure and properties of akund fiber at first,on the basis of that,conducting the investigation as follows:the correlation between the property of akund fiber and its growing conditions by grey relation analysis method,akund fiber former spinning alkaline treatment strength enhancement exploration and the reason about strength enhancement.The correlation between the properties of akund fiber and its growing conditions was studied in this paper.Hence,how to evaluate the property of akund fiber becomes the key factor to correlation analysis.Through the analysis about the most significant fiber properties which effect the fiber production and spinning process,the fruit shape,sample fruit production of fiber,breaking strength,breaking elongation,length,and linear density were selected to reflect the property of akund fiber.The testing results were processed by the gray correlation analysis method.The analysis results was hoped to provide certain theoretical basis for akund fiber's artificial planting.Through study on the structure of akund fiber and compare with cotton and kapok,it is found that the cellulose content of akund fiber is only 55.45%,which is far lower than that of cotton,but the lignin content is as high as 16.15%.The crystallization of akund fiber is measured about 42.31%by the X-ray,greater than that of kapok 42.31%,and less than that of cotton 78.4%;its orientation degree is the highest of the three fibers,which is up to 81%.The surface of akund fiber is straight and smooth without crimp,and has large cavity.The length of akund fiber is close to fine cotton,the fineness is close to long-staple cotton and similar to kapok fiber.Akund fiber strong performance is better than kapok fiber,but not as cotton fiber.The thermal stability is bad than that of cotton and kapok fiber.The surface contact angle is 126.7°,which indicates that akund fiber belongs to water repellency fiber.Testing akund fiber moisture regain by using the method of oven,the absorption and wet curve regression was set up,and then the absorption and moisture release rate was worked out.After testing,the result can be getted that the akund fiber standards resurgence rate is about 10.43%,higher than the cotton fiber,and similar to kapok.But the speed of wet absorbs and release is not as good as cotton and kapok.In addition,due to the akund fiber's breaking strength is low;in order to make it more adapt to the cotton spinning system,this paper also studied on the akund fiber former spinning alkali treatment modified exploratory processing,and try to increase its breaking strength.It is found that when the concentration of alkali is less than 160g/1,the strength of akund fiber change little,and when the concentrations of the alkali is greater than 160g/1,it worked.Furthermore,this paper also chose the optimal fiber of strength enhancement after the alkali treatment,and discussed the enhancement reason from the chemical composition,morphology(length and diameter),and the state of aggregation structure respectively.
