| With the increasing popularity and development of washing machine,mechanical washing become the main way to do clothing care in consumers’ daily life,and the drum laundering has gradually became mainstream in household washing for its characteristics of water saving,functional and little damages to clothes.Shape retention and comfort of clothes after household washing are important indexes to evaluate washing programs.The garment appearance and dimensional stability after washing are most concerned issues.The researches of mechanical washing effects have not to do in-depth analysis of real machine parameters,such as dehydration speed or the water inflow,while ignoring the flatness issues after washing,i.e.washing wrinkling problem which consumers concerned about mostly.No research studied the fabric winkling mechanism combine with mechanical washing conditions.The paper studied the effects of several parameters in the drum washing process on the properties,especially the appearance properties of garment after washing for the first time.The results will play a guiding role in the program development of washing machine manufacturers,crease recovery finishing technology research and consumers’daily washing.The paper chose 3 kinds of common men’s woven shirt with different components as test specimen,which have a high demand in appearance but easy to wrinkle.Set 5 parameters:washing time,washing temperature,duty cycle,dehydration speed and water inflow as experimental variables.Test 8 indexes of garment before and after each laundering process including appearance properties and physical and mechanical properties.The paper also used a new fabric appearance evaluation system to objectively evaluate the shirts appearance after washing for the first time.The paper picked up 5 significant effected indicators and 4 significant parameters by 5 factors and 3 levels orthogonal experiment.The 5 indicators are smoothness,mechanical action,dimensional stability,bending rigidity and surface irregularity.The parameters include washing time,washing temperature,duty cycle and dehydration speed.Then divided the 4 parameters into two groups to do 2 factors and 5 levels central composite designed experiments based on central composite design-response surface methodology.The experimental results show that the optimal washing parameters under this experimental condition is-duty cycle 45%,dehydration speed 900r/min,washing temperature 35℃,washing time 40min,water inflow 10L.The results also show that the fabric with poor resilience fibers,and thick yarns is more stiffness and has a bigger bending rigidity which led to lower smoothness grade.Fabric with low tensile strength fibers is easy to extend,which can reduce the shrinkage rate.Higher washing temperature will increase the mechanical action degree and smoothness grade,and the fabric may get rougher.Long time washing will increase the mechanical action degree and surface uniformity,reduce smoothness grade.Lower duty cycle is better for smoothness,bending,abrasion,and surface uniformity.Higher dehydration speed can reduce shrinkage rate,and bring a better appearance with a lower duty cycle. |
