Chlorosulfonated polyethylene is a kind of special rubber made from polyethylene chlorination and chlorosulfonation reaction. It has excellent properties such as ozone resistance, oil resistance, acid and alkali resistance, corrosion resistance and adhesion. It is widely used in oil-resistant rubber of automobile and heavy-corrosion coatings.Domestic of CSM has some differences in structure and performance with foreign production. In order to shorten this,Jiangxi hongrun chemical Company. It committed to improve its production process to improve the performance of CSM products. In this paper,CSM40(produced by Hongrun)and TS530(produced by Tosoh,Japan)which were of the same model were compared.By comparative analysis of macro performance,it was found that TS530 has a larger vulcanizates crosslinking density, higher tear strength, better aging resistance, oil resistance and solvent resistance. And the result of microstructure comparative analysis showed that the TS530 with no residual crystallization had lower glass transition temperature and more unform distribution of chlorine on the molecular chain. In addition,we found that there was a stiring fade zone in the domestic polymerizer. The structure and performance of CSM was improved significantly by introducing the import reactorso as to aliminating the stiring fade zone.Through comparative analysis of the structural properties of CSM30 produced by Hongrun,Jihua and Tosoh Company,it is found that CSM30 manufactured by Hongrun Company has similar chlorine and sulfur contents compared with CSM30 produced by Tosoh and Jihua Company, with little difference in number average molecular weight, lower weight average molecular weight and narrower molecular weight distribution.Hongrun,Tosoh products have similar glass transition temperature and thermal stability.
