Virtual reality(VR)is a new technology emerging with the development of information technology in recent years.It integrates the latest achievements of many advanced technologies to a computer-generated high-tech simulation system.With the development of "Industry 4.0" and "Made in China 2025",the application of parallel machine tool in manufacturing industry becomes more and more important.Parallel machine tool(PMT)is a kind of knowledge-intensive mechanism,which is called "NC machining equipment in the 21 st century".With the development of society,students and workers need to improve the skills of working mechanism and product assembly?There are many shortcomings in teaching and training.The application and research of virtual assembly teaching system of parallel machine tool are carried out in this paper.Taking the whole machine and key parts of parallel machine tool as the object,this paper studies the automatic assembly,manual assembly,virtual assembly and motion simulation of parallel machine tool.The main research contents are as follows:(1)According to the requirements of the system design,the overall structure of the system is put forward;the Virtools software platform is selected by comparing various virtual simulation platforms;the immersion and lifelike of the system are improved through the development and use of external hardware equipment.(2)Based on the research of six-bar Stewart platform,the design scheme of 3-TPT parallel machine tool is put forward.The scheme not only retains the advantages of the six-bar platform,but also optimizes its performance.By studying the whole machine structure of parallel machine tool,the position inverse solution and forward solution equation of machine tool mechanism and Jacobian matrix are derived.(3)According to the high precision requirement of parallel machine tool,the overall design scheme is put forward.Through the data analysis of the modelformat,the STL format is finally selected to ensure the accuracy of the model.The model of parallel machine tool is constructed by UG,which provides the foundation for the research of virtual assembly teaching system.(4)The overall scheme of the teaching system is designed.The automatic disassembly and assembly module of the system is realized by Deep;the motion simulation animation of machine tool is made by 3D Max,which can be importing to Virtools to realize the system motion simulation.The collision detection module of Virtools is applied to ensure that parts in assembly process do not interfere.The design of man-machine interface is realized by VB,and the system integrates with part display,automatic disassembly,manual assembly and motion simulation.(5)Through the research of SDK development module,the application of Virtools to data gloves and position tracker is realized,which can improve the immersion of users.According to the characteristics of 5DT data gloves and the position distribution of sensors,the BB programming of data gloves and the 3D modeling of virtual hand are completed.The communication between virtual hand and data glove is realized by programming according to the grasp rules of virtual hand.Through the cooperation of data glove and position tracker,the virtual hand is controlled to complete the virtual assembly.
