Although there are many kinds of virtual simulation teaching software about machinery on the market at present,most of them are operated by traditional man-machine interaction,such as keyboard,mouse,etc.These interactive ways can't truly display virtual disassembly and virtual machining because of lacking environmental factors in the field.Therefore,it is impossible to meet the user's pursuit of vivid visual effect and real operation experience.With the development of intelligent technology and the continuous improvement of various virtual hardware devices in recent years,for example,the gradual maturity of helmet displays,data gloves and other products,which has promoted the progress of the VR industry,making the development of the immersive system possible.Therefore,the immersive teaching system that combines virtual teaching resources with virtual hardware devices will become a new trend in virtual teaching field.The paper which is based on the related knowledge points of C616 lathe tail stock,combining with the virtual hardware device HTC Vive and data glove,depending on virtual reality development platform-Unity,designed and developed immersive virtual simulation teaching system of C616 lathe tail stock.Not only can it effectively solve the problems of traditional teaching existing in the Mechanical principle,Fundament of Interchangeability and Measurement,Mechanical process and Machine tool teaching,but also it can increase students' interest in mechanical discipline and improve their practical ability in mechanical design and manufacturing.Moreover,it can eliminate the hidden danger.In addition,the thought and technology of this paper can also be applied to the development of similar projects.Combined with the specific development,the main research work of this paper is as follows:Briefly introducing the background and significance of the paper;Summarizing the present situation of virtual simulation teaching system at home and abroad,the development of virtual reality devices and research status of immersive virtual reality system based on data glove and helmet display.Demonstrating the feasibility of the system in two aspects,on the one hand,the theoretical basis of the developed system has been analyzed,that is,the development thought of the system has been planned.On the other hand,from the practical view,this paper introduced the features of HTC Vive and data glove,and generalized the various development software.The construction process of VR teaching resources for C616 lathe tail stock has been introduced in detail.Key technologies involved in the development of VR resources have been studied deeply,including the design and development of man-machine interface,the production and the export of simulation animation,system optimization,collision detection technology,etc.The realization of the interactive platform of C616 lathe tail stock disassembly based on data glove has been studied,including integration of data glove and development platform,motion mapping from data glove to virtual hand,gesture recognition,collision detection in the interaction between virtual hand and C616 lathe tail stock,etc.The implementation of the virtual machining platform for typical parts based on HTC Vive has been studied,including integration of HTC Vive and development platform,the principle of space location and position tracking,real-time acquisition of HTC Vive data,graphics rendering in an immersive system-how the image is generated by the eyes when wearing a helmet.The immersive virtual simulation teaching system of C616 lathe tail stock,proved that the combination of virtual teaching resources and virtual hardware devices is feasible.The system has shaped a real teaching environment,which is forward-looking and instructive.It can effectively promote students' deep understanding of knowledge points and enhance their practical ability,which is a new breakthrough in mechanical teaching mode.
