The traditional Auspicious Eight Treasures Pattern of Tibet is the crystallizaiton of traditional Chinese culture and human wisdom, and embodies the core and spirits of China's thousands of years of culture. As currently “national styles” are prevailing, traditional cultures are more and more valued.Traditional auspicious patterns, with its rich meaning and unique artistic expression, are also experiencing their rejuvenation, and are extensively used in modern commercial packing. So,when doing branding designs, using snow lotus, the Chinese caterpillar fungus, rhodiola rosea, and saffron crocus is up to people's demand for quality of life and more healthy lifestyles. We use the traditional Auspicious Eight Treasures Pattern as the visual element of the “Jicao Garden”.It's not done just by copying the graphics mechanically, but by more.First we deconstruct the Auspicious Eight Treasures Pattern, extract from it parts that constitute its cultural significance, and then reassemble them again while applying colors most representative of Tibet, not just to meet the basic demands of visial communicaiton of package design, but also to express fineness and sweetness that could go right into men's hearts. To attain such, whendoing package design for the “Jicao Garden”,we need to think it through how to adhere to consumerpsychology, and forge brand images that could win consumers' faith.By using the three main elements of graphics, colors, and texts,we design sound package structures that express both their exterior aesthetics and their interior cultural significance.Such makes the breakthough point of this study.
