In order to dispose of the increasingly oil content in sewage situation,water treatment industry urgently needs a kind of water purification agentwith deoiling significantly.In recent years,many scholars have invested in the research and development of new flocculants.Among the multitude of study,cationic polyacrylamide flocculants(CPAM)has attracted much attention because of its less dosage,obvious effect,easy storage and other advantages.Grafing the hydrophobicity and affinity groups on CPAM molecules not only can enhance oil absorption property of flocculants in water,but also the hydrophobic connective and function will also be played in flocculation,therefore the purpose of oil and suspended solids removal can be achieved more quickly and thoroughly.Besides,among various initiation methods for polymer synthesis,low pressure UV-initiated polymerization can resolve the disadvantages of high energy consumption and complex operation in the existing synthetic technology.In addition,thelow-pressure UV initiationtechnology of organic flocculants synthesis can resolve the shortcomings of the existing synthetic technology,such as high energy consumption and complex operation.However there is relatively little research on this technologycurrently.This paper aims to obtain a new CPAM flocculants with remarkable oil removal and outstanding flocculation performance.Besides,this paper tries to graft hydrophobic groups on CPAM during the synthesis process.Therefore,a hydrophobic modified organic flocculant was synthesized by using dodecylpolyglucoside(DPL)as hydrophobic hydrophobic monomers,Dimethyl Diallyl Ammonium Chloride(DADMAC)and acrylamide(AM)as synthetic monomers under low pressure ultraviolet(24W,254nm).The product was named PAMP.The PAMP were used to simulatedin emulsified oil sewage and high turbidity sewage,and the flocculation mechanism was explored with infrared spectrometer and Zeta potential.The main contents and conclusions of the paper include:(1)Optimization of PAMP synthesis conditions.PAMP was synthesized by aqueous solution polymerization of hydrophobic monomers DPL,cationic monomer DADMAC and AM with 24 W low pressure ultraviolet lamp as reactive energy and2-hydroxy-4-(2-hydroxyethoxy)-2-methyl benzene acetone(Irgacure2959)as photo-initiator.The effect of illumination time,solid content,DADMAC content,DPL content and p H on cationic degree and intrinsic viscosity of flocculants were optimized through single-factor experiments,and the optimal cationic degree 780ml/gand intrinsic viscosity 80mmol/g were obtained under the best synthetic conditions.(2)Study on the molecular structure and morphology of PAMP.In this paper,the molecular functional groups,components,thermal stability and surface morphology of PAMP were investigated by using magnetic resonance spectrometer(1H-NMR,1C-NMR),Fourier transforms infrared spectroscopy(FTIR),Differential Thermal Analysis(DTA)and scanning electron microscope(SEM).Therefore,the principle and the molecular formula of the polymerization of PAMP are conjectured.PAMP was obtained by polymerization and grafting reaction.(3)Study on performance of removal of emulsified oil by PAMP.In this paper,the effect on PAMP removal of simulated emulsified oil sewage conditions was investigated through single-factor experiments,further more the maximum capacity of oil removal was obtained.The removal rate was achieved at 92.4% when dosage at8mg/L.Than itsoil removal performanceswere compared with traditional cationic polyacrylamide flocculants(CPAM)and the polyaluminium chloride(PAC).Finally,the oil removal mechanism of products was speculated through analysis the floc and the supernatant.(4)Study on performance of removal of Kaolin suspension by synthetic flocculants.The ability of treatment of kaolin suspension was studied in this paper.The most suitable work conditions were optimized by single-factor and response surface experiments.Turbidity of water is less than 2NTU after flocculation when dosage was 2mg/L.At the same time,the interaction between the various factors was parsed.Turbility Than its performances of turbidity sewage treatment was compared with the polyaluminium chloride(PAC).Finally,the turbidity removal mechanism of PAMP was analysed through resolve the floc and the supernatant.
