Design And Research Of Fractal Jewelry Based On Filled-in Julia Set

With the continuous improvement of economy and material levels,people's pursuit of spiritual life has become more and more intense.Accompany with the rise of people's aesthetic demands,the status of jewelry in people's minds is getting higher.As a witness of the brilliant history of human development,the form of jewelry from the Stone Age has also continued to evolve.Nowadays,people wear jewelry,longing for the expression of individuality and beauty,so the innovation of jewelry modeling becomes more and more important to jewelry designers.The emergence of fractal science opens a new path for the development of many subject fields.It is not only a mathematical concept but also a world outlook and methodology that reveals the existence of a physical world.Currently,the fractal applications have made significant progress in several subject fields.The development of art is inseparable from the scientific injection,while add the fractal idea into the jewelry design to make the creative forms of art more diversified,it is even more precise and scientific to make it exist more theoretically and rationally.Applying the fractal concept into the product design,has made some progress,but in the field of jewelry design,there is still great room for the use of fractal idea,the combination of fractal idea and jewelry design will provide a new design idea and inspiration for jewelry designers.By the practice of product design based on fractal theory,this article obtains the general methods of designing with fractal idea,and based on this,learn from the practical results of product design,research and consider the related design elements and production process of jewelry design.Through summarizing and thinking,design two sets of fractal jewelry based on Julia set,and the jewelry has the characteristics of fractal self-similarity.Through this jewelry design practice,put the different fractal patterns into the jewelry design,combine the fractal idea with the jewelry design,which enrich the creative thought of jewelry.The research results obtained in this paper are as follows:1.Inspired by the shapes and structures of the filled-in Julia's sets of fractals,integrate it into the design of several products and use modeling software to express the general methods and ideas of applying fractal design.2.Referring to the method of fractal product design,choosing the pameters from the set M of complex mapping building by our project group,we constructed the filled-in Julia sets with rotationally symmetric properties in the form of a 3-or 6-bifurcations at the origin respectively.we got the design inspiration from the fractal patterns,combined with the research and thinking of the relevant design elements and the production process of jewelry design,designed out two sets of fractal jewelries made of a necklace,a pair of earrings,a bracelet and a ring,and using software for modeling.3.About the two sets of jewelries designed from the fractal pattern of our project group,one has applied for the National Invention Patent.The real sample of this set of the jewelry has been made in a jewelry manufacturer.4.By applying the fractal idea to the design,this article present the method,combining the fractal thought with the jewelry design,shows the feasibility of using the fractal idea to design the jewelry,and provides a new way of the jewelry design.
