Over the past 40 years of reform and opening,China's economy has achieved tremendous results,and energy consumption is also increasing.Now China has become the world's second largest oil consumer.Crude oil is a very important raw material for the petrochemical industry and occupies a decisive position in China's energy structure.It is also an important strategic material reserve.As a storage place for crude oil,the storage tank area has large reserves of crude oil and dense storage tanks.Once a fire occurs,it is likely to ignite the surrounding storage tanks,causing significant loss of personnel and property.Heat radiation is the main form of fire accident hazards in the storage tank area.By setting a reasonable and effective safety barrier and reducing the heat radiation received by the adjacent storage tanks,the possibility of igniting the surrounding storage tanks can be greatly reduced,and the accidents can be limited to a relatively small range..As a passive safety barrier,the fire protection and insulation layer can play a role in other fire prevention measures in the early stages of a fire and protect the influence of flame radiation from adjacent storage tanks.This paper selects the pool fire in the crude oil storage tank area as the research object,and studies the protective effect of fireproof and heat insulation layer on the adjacent storage tank through numerical simulation.The main research contents of the paper are:(1)Establish a crude oil storage tank model,calculate the total amount of heat radiation released by the flame in the pool fire accident based on the solid flame model,and the distribution of the heat radiation flux near the surface of the storage tank and the downwind tank under different wind speed and direction conditions.The following numerical simulation provides the basis for calculating the protective effect of the fire insulation layer.(2)Using fire dynamics simulation software FDS to calculate and compare the temperature change and heat radiation flux of different thicknesses of the fire insulation layer under different radiation effects to the flame side and back to the flame side.(3)Using finite element analysis software ANSYS FLUENT to simulate and calculate the temperature change of the oil inside the tank and the air above the oil in the presence or absence of fire insulation.When the temperature of the air layer above the oil is higher than the ignition point of the oil,it may be ignited if an electrostatic spark or open flame occurs.The protective effect of the fire insulation layer was studied by comparing the time when the combustible gas above the oil reached the flash point of the crude oil in the presence or absence of a fireproof heat insulation layer.
