With the environmnental problems becoming increasingly seriousen,such as climate warming,the concepts of “low-carbon economy” and “sustainable development” have gradually gained wide recognition from the international community.However,for China,the conflict between high-energy,high-polluting extensive economic development models and environmental issues has become increasingly prominent.As one of the main national industry in economy,the transportation is one of the major sources of carbon emissions.At present,unilaterally pursuing carbon emissions reductions or unilaterally guaranteeing the rapid development of the transport is in contradiction with the current concept of “green traffic” and “steady development” in China.Therefore,it is necessary to evaluate the past China's transportation economy effiency,carbon emission efficiency,and the joint efficiency of both economy and carbon emissions,and to grasp their temporal and spatial characteristics and endogenous effects.Therefore,based on the economic development and carbon emission data of 30 Chinese provinces,this paper uses the RAM model to measure the economic efficiency,carbon emission efficiency,and joint efficiency.Then,it adopts vrious methods and index,such as the KruskalWallis rank sum test,Wilcoxon Mann-Whitney test,Page test,geostatistical method,standard deviation,and coefficient of variation,to explore the characteristics of the time evolution,spatial heterogeneity,or spatial aggregation above the three efficiency.Finally,on the basic of above ananlysis,it reasearches the endogenous effects by the inefficient decomposition model,and analyzes the joint law of economic-carbon emissions.The specific results are as follows:(1)According to the analysis and Page statistics test,China's transportation economic efficiency,carbon emission efficiency and joint efficiency can be roughly divided into two phases:(1)Efficiency fluctuations rising phase(2006-2011).(2)Relatively stable phase of efficiency(2012-2015).(2)The results of the rank sum test show that there have the charactertics of spatial heterogeneity in economic efficiency,carbon emission efficiency,and joint efficiency.Specifically:(1)Economic efficiency is different between the eastern and central,western and northeast from 2006 to 2015,while it is also presented the trendency of eastern> central/western,northeast> central/western.(2)Carbon Emission Efficiency of the eastern,central and western regions are obviously different with the northeast.(3)The combined efficiency presents the gradient distribution characteristics of the eastern> central/west> northeast.The analysis of spatial heterogeneity shows that: economic efficiency presents a downward trend;the carbon emission efficiency and joint efficiency are characterized by "U" type,but the patterns of change in different regions are different.(3)Geostatistical analysis shows that the economic efficiency does not show the spatial aggregation characteristics,while the carbon emission efficiency and the joint efficiency have obvious spatial aggregation characteristics,and the latter two mainly show the characteristics of “High-Low” and “High-High” aggregation.(4)The inefficiency of China's transportation mainly comes from expected output and energy consumption,while the inefficiencies of energy all present the gradient distribution characteristics of Northeast> Central> Western> Eastern.The analusis of the joint law of economic-carbon emissions has divided the provinces into different joint states,and proposed different suggestions for them.
