The wheel weight of aluminum alloy is lighter than that of steel hub,and has the characteristics of low energy consumption,fast heat dissipation,strong durability,long service life and so on.It is suitable for the development of modern industry.But the casting of aluminum alloy wheel hub also has many problems,such as difficult to control forming,casting defects and so on,and seriously limit its application in the wheel hub.With the application and development of computer technology in product design and manufacture,the development and manufacturing capabilities of new products have been greatly improved.The establishment of engineering calculation model and through simulation analysis of numerical simulation for casting process,reasonable design of casting process parameters,can effectively reduce the probability of casting defects,shorten the product development cycle,improve product quality,reduce production cost.Based on the design features and design principles of the wheel hub,the structure design of the wheel spokes,wheel rims and rims of the new type aluminum alloy wheel hub structure and the design of the casting blank are carried out by using UG software according to the two-dimensional drawings of the product.The article based on the difficulty that control the casting forming of aluminum alloy wheel hub and casting defects,Taking A356.0-T6 aluminum alloy as the lightweight material of wheel hub.Based on the finite element method,the numerical simulation of the die casting process of aluminum alloy wheel hub is carried out,and analysis the two process of filling and solidification in the finite element simulation results.According to the structural characteristics of Aluminum Alloy hub,to determine the reasonable rising liquid pressure and velocity of liquid metal pouring temperature,mold temperature,time and pressure etc.the main casting parameters of the liquid metal flow velocity and pressure.The simulation results show that the filling speed is 0.5 m/s,the filling pressure of 30 KPa and a pressure of 80 KPa,the pressure when the length of 180 s,Aluminum Alloy liquid filling speed is relatively stable and uniform distribution,filling in good condition,the hub casting solidification temperature is evenly distributed,and realizes the sequential solidification the hub since,in order to validate the rationality of the design of casting technology Aluminum Alloy hub.According to the result of finite element simulation,combined with the principle of mould design in actual production process,the design and shape of the mold of the main working parts,and the manufacturing process of the design,on the basis of the design of the mold assembly diagram and product trial.The feasibility of the die casting process was verified by the analysis of the microstructure and property of the die casting wheel hub.
