Objective:We aimed to investigate and compare the effects of four types different degree of methyl esteritied and amidated pectins on physiological parameters, gut microbiota composition, and short chain fatty acid(SCFA)in obese mice.Method:6 groups Male C57 BL / 6 j mice were given control diet chow(Control),high fat diet(HFD),and high fat diet supplemented with 4% structurally different pectins for 12 weeks.Different physiological parameters, gut microbiota composition and SCFA of pectins in high fat diet mice were observed.Result:During the intervention period,LM-101 AS pectin(P1)and LM-104 AS pectin(P2)stimulating reduced weight, fat weight, and Serum total cholesterol, glucose. In the liver paraffin section,P1 and P2 stimulating reduce liver fat degeneration. In the epididymal fat frozen section,P1 reduce fat cell size.In the cecum and colon,P1 and P2 increased the abundance of Bacteroides and Akkermansia, reducing the abundance of Mucispirillum. In addition,P1 and P2 increased the abundance of Parasutterella. In the cecum,P1 and P2 increased the acetic acid, propionic acid and butyric acid. Conclusion:Pectin of different structure has different effect to prevent obesity.35% methyl esteritied and 15% amidated pectins was the most effective in preventing obesity. As a potential strategy, dietary pectin supplementation can regulate a series of physiological parameters related to obesity, thus effectively reducing obesity.Pectin may play a physiological role by regulating gut microbes and the contents of short-chain fatty acids.
