With the continuous improvement of modern industrial design level,computer aided design(CAD)and computer aided engineering(CAE)also developed rapidly.The combination of high precision,high reliability,visualization of data and casting process design can greatly improve the level of automation of production design and improve the design flow.It has a very broad prospect.However,the existing casting CAD and CAE are often carried out separately as two systems,which not only lead to inconsistencies in the system interface,but also increase labor costs and time costs.Meanwhile,because of the need for data conversion from CAD to CAE,it often leads to data inconsistency.To this end,the CAD/CAE integrated system based on UG has been studied and it is employed in riser design.This paper mainly completed the following aspects of work:Firstly,in order to prevent the problem of data conversion from CAD 3D modeling software to CAE numerical simulation software,this paper realizes the mesh generation directly in UG by slicing method,which is suitable for dividing arbitrary shapes of 3D entities.The solidification theory of the temperature field is studied.The latent heat is treated by the improved equivalent specific heat method.The function of calculating the temperature field during solidification process is realized.Secondly,this paper studies the technology of post-processing display based on UG.By using the method of surface search and temperature field data mapping and use UG secondary development interface to create facet models,the visualization of temperature field data in post-processing is realized.It can meet the need of Post-processing display by rotating,zooming and transparentizing the view.Thirdly,by studying the criterion of shrinkage reduction and the isolated liquid region search algorithm,the system can calculate the local modulus and position of the isolated liquid region in UG.The program of riser size design intelligently is developed by using the modulus method and perimetrischen quotient method.Riser process is designed by using UG parametric modeling technology.Finally,this paper analyzes the temperature field simulation and the riser optimization design process for the bearing seat.The CAD/CAE integrated system and its practicability in the design of the riser are verified to be practical.The system developed in this paper integrate CAD and CAE in UG effectively,and it is used in riser optimization design.This system improves the casting process designer's efficiency and has great practical value.
