Virtual reality are developed fast in all kinds of industry,the application of the NC machining simulation technology gradually shows its obvious advantages in mechanical processing industry,automotive,aerospace,machinery manufacturing and other fields,and it has the infinite develop space and potential.The drills are widely used in the processing industry,the groove and point shapes are the most complicated structure on it,also with the higher machining precision requirement,thus makes it get widely attention and research both at home and abroad.In this topic,by means of virtual simulation technology and OpenGL graphics library technology,pilot study on the simulation machining system structure set up,the algorithm and modeling of the spiral groove which is the important structure of the twist drills that has widely used in mechanical processing industry.Established the mathematical model of the spiral groove,grinding wheel as well as the relative position between them.Established the three-dimensional geometrical model.Through the Visual C++6.0 programming to design the overall structure of the simulation system,and add Boolean operation,state control and parameter setting modules etc.In the process of algorithm research,the blank and grinding wheel 3 d geometrical modeling method are classified,and put forward a new modeling method.Based on the modeling method to realize the three dimensional Boolean algorithm converted to the two-dimensional,also programed its code structure,studies the mathematical model of grinding wheel and spiral groove shape,and also the mathematical model of space coordinate relationship between grinding wheel and the spiral groove,by calling the OpenGL library functions to achieve rendering and animation demonstration of the models.System interface design includes many functional modules corresponding with algorithm,including loading and storing NC code module,parameter setting and status control module,graphic display module,it well combined and embedded the mathematical model,Boolean algorithm,geometric model and animation etc.,basically realized the main functions of the simulation system.This topic mainly studies the mathematical model,the geometric model and Boolean algorithm implementation,etc.,and transformed into the corresponding code structure.The key of machining simulation system is the mathematics model,the Boolean algorithm,animation,and other functions,after the completion of the model and algorithm,respectively experiment by the NUMROTOS simulation software and the WATER five axis NC grinding machine,the results about two-dimensional spiral groove sectional shapes and the actual spiral grooves are consistent with theoretical parameters values,that validated the correctness of mathematical model.Through the PTC-6 five axis NC grinding machine processing experiment,the results demonstrated the validity of the algorithm of Boolean by compared with the Boolean results.Finally through the reconstruction model spatial location relationship,verified the correctness of the display module and control module function etc.So far the basic algorithm functions of the simulation system are verified.
