With the continuous increase in the sharing rate of urban rail transit trips, the daily average flow of passengers shows a clear upward trend, and rail transit stations are experiencing impact of tremendous passengers. The interchange hub of the metro as a line interchange station will take more passengers. In the peak of flow, there may be overloaded service facilities, resulting in a series of safety issues.Scientific and reasonable analyzing and evaluating the degree of congestion within a station has important guiding and practical significance in the aspects of station's safe operation management and passengers' safe travel.First of all, this article describes the definition of crowded subway interchange hubs, and analyzes the causes and classification of crowding.By analyzing the characteristics of the passenger flow in various service infrastructure, the subway transfer hub is divided into queuing areas and distribution areas;Different models are introduced in the area to evaluate congestion. The queuing model is used for queuing areas, while the TOPSIS comprehensive evaluation method for the distribution areas.Secondly, when selecting evaluation indicators, the queuing area selects the number of queuing persons and waiting time, and the distribution area selects passenger flow, passenger density and passengers' walking speed. Then analyze the sample data by the method of K-means cluster analysis to divide each evaluation index into 3 categories.According to the final cluster center, the congestion degree of subway transfer hubs is divided into A,B,C,and D four grades, and the standard values for each congestion level are obtained. Finally, taking Xi'an Road interchange hub in Dalian as the research object, the data needed for the congestion assessment are obtained through field survey observation and questionnaire distribution, and the data are statistically applied to analyze the characteristics and distribution of passenger flow in the hub.The degrees of congestion in the queuing area and the distribution area are evaluated separately, and the congestion level value of each service facility is prior input. The TOPSIS method is used to evaluate the crowding degree of the subway interchange hub,and finally judge the congestion level of the morning peak, level peak and night peak to be B,A,C,i.e.crowded status. It is consistent with the results of crowding feeling in the questionnaire, thus demonstrating the feasibility and practicality of the theoretical study of this paper.
