With the increasing demand for livestock products and the continuous development of technology at home,many livestock and poultry farms are gradually expanding their production capacity towards large-scale and intensive development.A healthy farming environment,suitable for the growth of livestock and poultry,can not only reduce the chance of diseases but also improve the quality of by-products,all of which guarantee the final quality and yield of livestock products.Although,in recent years,poultry house environment regulation,like vertical ventilation and wet curtain cooling in summer,and breeding tools,like the feeder and decontamination machine,are being scientific and machinated respectively,most of the devices are separated,and need to be manually operated by rearing managers with somewhat less systematicness.In this study,designs of software and hardware for poultry breeding monitoring systems were completed by combining virtual instrument technology with sensor technology and programmable logic controller technology.Based on the software platform Lab VIEW,the designer adopted the method of modular programming,as well as the ideas of main program calling the subroutine programming,to make the host computer read and display environment parameters collected by the S7-1200PLC through the NI OPC server,and then store it in the SQL Server database.Monitoring system can switch between automatic operation mode and manual operation mode so as to selectively intervene each execution device.Serving as a short-range controller,SIMATIC S7-1200PLC collects values of temperature,humidity,ammonia as well as data and operation state of the remote controller S7-200PLC through MODBUS communication,during which the optical fiber is adopted as the transmission medium to avoid signal loss and achieve thousands of meters long-distance transmission.Under the upper computer automatic mode,S7-1200 can automatically control the devices according to current parameters,while it manually controls the operation of the devices according to the LabVIEW signals under the host computer manual mode.After the hardware and software systems were accomplished,the designer tested various functions of the system.The friendly interface,easy operation and stable operating conditions reduce the labor intensity of feeding staff,and thus achieve the original intention of the design.
