Beam-Pumping units are the main equipment and energy consumer in the oil-field system. For making clear the actual operation condition of pumping units, having a clear goal in designing energy-saving device and its control system, we must measure paremeters and analyse the operation condion of pumping units. This is the basis for making energy-saving transformation come true.In this dissertation, according to the China petroleum industry standard SY/T5264-2006, a set of testing system of pumping units is researched, and designed by LabVIEW of NI company which is used as development platform.It firstly studies the constitution of virtual instruments and LabVIEW graphical programming language. Then according to the requirements of testing system and features of LabVIEW, the hardware frame and the overall design thought of the system are conducted, so that the basic software structure and hardware components are established.Hardware selection meets the need of industry standard. In order to improve the system reliability and to make it convenient for debugging, the intelligent and integrated sensors are adopted, including load&displacement sensor, torque sensor and 3-Phase Electricity parameter acquisition module. In addtion, the wireless transmitting and receiving mode of the load&displacement sensor and torque sensor are convenient for field installation. Serial communication mode is adopted in this testing system.The software of the system is the core of the testing system for pumping uints. The overall framwork of the system software is completed based on modular design, the system was divided into two main parts: on-line collecting system for pumping units'working conditions and off-line data analysis system. On the basis, the two main parts are further divided into small modules, such as data acquisition, data processing, data save, data read and real-time display, etc. and the modul framwork are designed. In this dissertation, the design and implementation methods of the main function modules are introduced in detail. To meet the requirement of synchronous acquisition of multi-parameter data and of multi-tasks parallel processing requirement, the data stream drive features and running control technology of LabVIEW are employed in this testing system. In addition, at the aspect of realizing complicated data processing, the technology of dynamic link library is adopted, which makes up the deficiency of graphical programming language compared to text programming language , and extends to the function of LabVIEW.In this dissertation, the problem of database interface in the LabVIEW is resolved, and the database is applied to the management of the testing data. In order to access the database, the fee-free accessing tool packet LabSQL developed by the LabVIEW users is used, which can simplify programming by using Microsoft ADO and SQL language. The application of the database in the LabVIEW has enhanced the testing system function.The field application of the testing system and analysis of result show that the testing system of pumping units based on virtual instruments meets the testing standard and requirement. It has the characteristics of economy, convenient installation, friendly and visual man-machine interface, simple operation, and stable running, which fully embodys the advantages of virtual instruments.
