The cotton fiber fineness is an indicator for measuring the thickness of cotton fiber.It is one of the important quality indicators of cotton fiber trading.The traditional mid-section cut-off weighing method takes time and effort,so the quick and convenient method of fineness measurement has been the direction of research.In this paper,four cotton samples with different micronaire values were used.The feasibility of using Laserscan to measure cotton fiber fineness was studied and analyzed.The experiment compared and analyzed the diameter directly measured by Laserscan and the diameter of the cotton fiber mid-round reunion.Referring the mid-section cutting weighing method,Laserscan was used to measure the number of cotton fibers,and the cotton fiber linear density was indirectly measured by using the acceptance rate to correct the number of cotton fibers.The study analyzed the correlation between Laserscan measurement results and the traditional measurement results.Focuses on the variation of the results by Laserscan with different sample quality,different solution types,and different liquid flow rates,the study optimized the testing method.In consideration of the optimization and correction of the measurement condition,the accuracy and stability of the results can be effectively improved by the new testing method,which is a new exploration and attempt.The main conclusions obtained in this paper were as follows:(1)Laserscan is a possible way to quickly and effectively measure the random diameter and mid-round diameter of cotton fibers,providing an effective reference for understanding the cotton fibers diameter distribution.The diameter directly measured by Laserscan had the same tendency as the diameter after recirculation,and the degree of dispersion of the recirculated diameter became larger.(2)Laserscan can be used to indirectly measure the linear density of cotton fiber,but the results are quite different from the traditional methods.The main reason is that the acceptance rate is low.The measurement time of the Laserscan was about 25 ~ 40 minutes,the actual acceptance rate was 20% to 25%,and the maximum coefficient of variation was7.6%.By correcting the acceptance rate,the error range of corrected results was 10 mtex to20mtex.(3)Optimized measurement parameters: sample quality,solution type and flow rate.Through single-factor,orthogonal experiments,taking into account the actual acceptance rate and stability of the instrument measurement,the best solution was to choose the 50%volume concentration of isopropanol,the flow rate of 40ml/s ~ 50ml/s,and the sample quality of 1.5mg ~ 2mg.Through the correction,it was found that the error range is0.09 mtex ~ 14 mtex.The measurement accuracy had been improved.
