Electric submersible pump with pressure sensor is a common lift method for offshore oil.Monitoring the rate of the ESP,getting the dynamic change of oil wells, and evaluating the production characteristics of offshore oil field are of great significance. This paper uses calibration point correction method and energy balance iteration method to estimate the rate of produced liquid in electric submersible pump.First,a CFD model for mixed-type electric submersible pump and a centrifugal electric submersible pump was established.By comparing the performance curve of the CFD model with that of submersible pump in the same type, the reliability of the CFD model was proved since the relative error was less than 10%.In addition,a PIPESIM model was established. Then analyzed and evaluated the calibration point correction method and energy balance iteration method based on the hydraulic performance data simulated by the CFD model as well as the PIPESIM model.By evaluating the calibration point correction method and the energy balance iteration method,it found that the result of the rate offset and the head offset method were relatively better among the calibration point correction method. The maximum relative error of the rate offset method was 7.46%,and the maximum relative error of the head offset method is 15.76%.Thus the rate offset method and the head offset method were recommended to estimate the rate of produced liquid in electric submersible pump. The accuracy of energy balance iteration method would be easily affected by viscous conversion method, and thus only the feasibility as well as the programming algorithm were verified.
