With the quality of Liaohe heavy oil getting poorer,it is more and more difficult to product grade-A asphalt by the atmosphere-vacuum distillation. It is feasible processing scheme that using solvent deasphalting technology to treat Liaohe vacuum residuum, and then followed by the asphalt blending process. In this paper, three kinds of vacuum residuums of Liaohe heavy oil were used as the raw material of solvent deasphalting experiment. The operating conditions of solvent deasphalting experiment were analyzed, and the results show that with the temperature of extraction increasing, the yield of DOA is increasing, the softening point of DOA is falling, the content of saturates and aromatics is increasing, and the content of resin and asphaltene is reducing. The blending temperature and blending time were investigated, the results show that when the blending temperature of 170 ? and the blending time of 30 min effectively reduce the influence of aging time, which is beneficial to getting homogeneous. The results of the blending experiments were analyzed,it was found that that when blended with 140# asphalt, the blended asphalt can meet the standard of 90# grade-A asphalt with the content of DOA with 117? softening point being 11m%.When the DOA with 117? softening point(8m%)blended with 130# asphalt, the blending asphalt can meet the standard of 70# grade-A asphalt. The relationship between needle penetration and of the blend ratio were studied. Results show that lgT·lgP/lgP0 is in a good exponential relationship with the amount of DOA added.A mathematical model was developed based on this finding.Laboratory experiments show that this mathematical model is very helpful to asphalt production and highly operational.
