In recent years,more and more people pay attention to natural polymer material.Its application of being made into foods and being used in the body becomes social hot spots.It is unhealthy and will leads to moisture lost for foods when they are exposed in air directly.Protective film added on the food can meet food s afety requirements.The protective film also means edible packaging film.Starch sodium octenyl Succinate(SSOS)is very safe food additive,which is approved for the use in foods by the nation and can be used as base material in edible films.Edible film is made from SSOS as base material,and other materials were added as auxiliary contents.A series of tests are conducted on edible films and then edible films are applied practically.The main research content is as follows:The preparation process of SSOS:By changing the amount of Octenyl Succinic Anhydride(OSA),the preparation of the different degree of substitution of SSOS.The esterification reaction is produced by corn starch and OSA under weakly alkaline conditions.The optimal conditions:Reaction temperature of 35?,reaction time is 3 h,the reaction of PH 8.5,starch milk concentration is 0.25 g/ml,the preparation of the Starch sodium octenyl Succinate is better.The preparation of edible film:Different substitution degree of SSOS is prepared by corn and OSA under the certain conditions,and then different substitution degree of SSOS is added in deionized water paired starch emulsion.The SSOS is gelatinized for 25 min,then different proportions of strengthening agent and plasticizer were added and the mixture was homogenized for 5 min,homogeneous speed is 1000 r/min.The liquid is centrifuged to remove air bubbles,followed by casting to glass plate and then the plate was placed into oven,keeping at about 75? for a certain time.Then the edible film is peeled from the plat and saved in the plastic bag for the following test.SSOS with the degree of substitution of 0.0211 was chosen as base material of edible film.When the ratio of m(SSOS):m(sodium alginate):m(glycerol)is 3.5:0.9:1.15,the comprehensive performance of film was optimal.Its tensile strength is 33.21 MPa,elongation at break is 6.34%,which were as mechanical index of the edible film.Light transmittance of the film is 52%,which was as the indicators of the transparency of the edible film.And contact angle is 47.2°,which was as water resistant index the of the edible film.Application of SSOS edible film:The SSOS edible film prepared under the optimal condition was applied to the fruit fresh keeping and paper surface sizing.The research shows that S SOS edible films showed fresh keeping performance.The water loss rate of bread for 4 days storage was 18.3%when packed by SSOS film,whereas it was 33.3%without packing.For grapes,the corresponding data were 7.7%and 12.4%,respectively.When SSOS was used in the surface sizing,the degree of substitution was 0.0381 and solid content of SSOS was 0.8613,picking speed reached to its maximum value.
