Automotive air filter paper belongs to the automotive filter paper.With the rapid development of automobile industry,the amount of air filter paper has been developing rapidly.This paper mainly discussed that effect of the types of fiber,beating degree,the species and dosage of chemicals,and pressing and drying methods on the properties of base paper of air filter paper,and further investigated the effect of the mass fraction of impregated flame retardant solution on the consequence of flame retardant,and the effect of impregated emulsion resin content and curing time on the properties of air filter paper.At room temperature,the effect of alkali concentration and processing time on the degree of polymerization was discussed.Results show that the DP of pulp reached maximum,when the alkali concentration was 190g/L,the processing time was 45min.Mercerizing process mainly to remove hemicellulose and cellulose with low degree of polymerization,the surface of mercerized fiber became more fruity and smooth,fibers were swelled sufficiently,and it's elasticity,could effectively improve the air permeability of air filter paper.Mixed mercerized pulp and softwood pulp to make air filter paper,the properites of base paper were balanced,when the ratio of mercerized pulp was 50%,the beating degree of mercerized pulp and softwood pulp were 16°SR and 22°SR respectively,the addition amount of CPAM was 0.06%,after pressing for 5min and dried by drum type dryer.At the moment,the porosity and mechanical strength of base paper of filter paper could meet the requirements.Mixed hardwood pulp and softwood pulp to make air filter paper,the properites of base paper were great,but permeability and filtration of paper were not very ideal,when the ratio of hardwood pulp was 30%,the beating degree of hardwood and softwood pulp were 21°SR and 16°SR respectively,the addition amount of CPAM was 0.06%,after pressing for 5min and dried by drum type dryer.Considered the air filtration performance of filter paper,so hardwood pulp was not suitable for the production of air filter paper.Used synthetic fiber and softwood pulp to make air filter paper,the performance of base paper achieved balance relatively,when the ratio of synthetic fiber was 20%,the beating degree of softwood pulp was 22°SR,the addition amount of CPAM was 0.04%,after drying process by drum type dryer without pressing process.Contrast found that the polypropylence fiber(PP)fall off easily from the page,but polyester(PET)did not,and the addition of PET could increase the porosity of paper,also improve the tear index and folding strength of paper,so PET was more suitable for papermaking than PP.According to the experiments,mixed mercerized pulp,PET fiber and softwood pulp to make filter paper,its ratio was 40%,20%and 40%.It was found that the bulk,burst index and tear index of base paper increased of 55%,80%and 95%over base paper made by mercerized pulp and softwood pulp respectively,and other performance didn't have obvious diffierence,when the beating degree of softwood pulp was 30°SR,so this method had a certain effect.The mass fraction of impregnated flame retardant solution was 4%,the properties of flame retardant of filter paper was better,its afterflame and burning time was Os,and its char length was 4mm.after impregnated flame retardant solution,the thermal degradation temperature of fiber in the filter paper increased from 160? to 220?,so air filter paper has certain flame retardant performance.Mechanical properties and filter performance of filter paper achieved balance,when the glue amount of impregnated resin and curing time were 20%and 15min respectively.
