In Sanming City,Fujian,Using CB-1,K326,Yunyan 87 of the main planted varieties in the landlord as experimental material,researched the differences of the agronomic characters and the appearance quality of different flue-cured tobacco varieties and leaf positions during growth and development in field and after the flue-curing process.The main results are as follows:1.There were significant differences in agronomic characters of the three varieties.CB-1 showed the strong growth potential in field as the main planted varieties in the landlord.The leaf number of CB-1 and Yunyan 87 was less than K326.There were significant differences in agronomic characters of the three varieties after the flue-curing process.The leaf of CB-1 had smaller length and width than the leaf of K326 and Yunyan 87.CB-1 had parallel branch and blunter tip,bigger angle between the main vein and branch,better shrinkage property than K326 and Yunyan 87.2.There were significant differences in the color characteristic parameters of different varieties.In terms of lower leaf,the L* value,the b* value and the C* value of CB-1 was the biggest,the a* value of Yunyan 87 was the biggest.In terms of cutters,the L* value of K326 was the biggest,the a* value,the b* value and the C* value of Yunyan 87 was the biggest.In terms of upper leaf,the a* value and the C* value of Yunyan 87 was the biggest.With the leaf-position rising,the color characteristic parameters of the three varieties exhibit similar characteristics that lightness,yellowness and saturation were instability and redness was stability.With the leaf-position rising,the L* value decreased,the a* value increased,the b* value increased at first and then decreased which reach the highest at 7~10 leaf-position similar to the C* value.The color of tobacco leaf of K326 was shallower and more stability than Yunyan 87.3.There were significant differences in the appearance quality of different varieties.In terms of lower leaf,the value of color,mature,leaf structure of CB-1 and Yunyan 87 were higher.In terms of cutters,the value of color and total score of Yunyan 87 were higher,the value of body and oil of CB-1 and Yunyan 87 were higher,the value of chroma of K326 was higher.In terms of upper leaf,the value of color of K326 was higher,the value of body of CB-1 was higher.With the leaf-position rising,the value of the appearance quality of the three varieties exhibit similar characteristics.The value of color,mature,body were all increased at first and then decreased which reach the highest at the 7~11 leaf-position of CB-1 and Yunyan 87 and the 9~13 leaf-position of K326.The overall appearance quality of cutters was the best.4.The surface color characteristic parameters of flue-cured tobacco were significantly or extremely significantly correlated to the index of appearance quality.There was an obvious “?”-shaped curve between the L* value,the a* value and the total value of appearance quality evaluation.When the L* value was 53~54 or the a* value was 13~15,the total value of appearance quality evaluation reached the highest.There was a significant positive correlation between lightness and oil,a significant positive correlation between yellowness and total score.5.With the rising of nodes,the uniformity of brightness decreased and redness increased,the patterns of the uniformity of yellowness and sensory evaluation in the different nodes showed some similarities which the color uniformity of cutters showed the highest.6.The color characteristic parameters of base-color was different.The b* value and the C* value of orange tobacco leaves were generally higher than lemon and red brown tobacco leaves.The L* value of lemon tobacco leaves was the highest.The a* value of red brown tobacco leaves was the highest.The b* value and the C* value of Yunyan 87 were the highest.The L* value was the highest and the a* value was the lowest of lemon tobacco leaves of CB-1.
