| With the further development of industrialization, haze pollution in China has become increasingly serious, which is harmful to the development of economics and society,as well as residents’ health.Haze pollution is the accumulation of environmental problems caused by industrialization.Referring to the experiences in developed countries, the primary task of controlling the haze pollution is to promote industrial pollution control. This paper discusses the reasons accounting for the haze pollution from two industrialization pathways,i.e.industrial agglomeration and industrial ownership, and it provides references for our country to prevent and governance the haze pollution of industry. The haze satellite data of 261 cities in China from 1998 to 2012 was extracted by the ArcGIS software in this paper. The industrial regional position entropy on those cities were calculated to represent their level of industrial agglomeration.Adopting Spatial Dubin Model(SDM),the spatial correlation between industrial agglomeration and the haze pollution was studied. It is found that the haze pollution has a significant positive correlation with the industrial agglomeration levels in object region and its neighboring regions.Direct and indirect effects of the industrial agglomeration on the haze pollution are all significantly positive, and the latter are higher than the former. It indicates that the haze pollution is from the industrial agglomeration not only in the object region, but also in its neighboring regions.Furthermore, distinguishing region and sector, regression results suggest that the direct and indirect effects of industrial agglomeration on haze pollution in central and western China exceed that in eastern China, and the indirect effects are more obvious than the direct effects. In addition, the direct and indirect effects of agglomeration in heavily polluting industrial are higher than those in non-heavily polluting industries. In order to further understand the relationship between the industrial agglomeration and the haze pollution from a perspective of geospatial, the industrial Spatial Gini Coefficient of 22 provinces was calculated to represent their level of industrial special agglomeration, and the haze satellite data from 2001 to 2010 in provincial-level was extracted. Then the SDM was applied to study the correlation between the haze pollution and the industrial agglomeration.Regression results show that the haze pollution has a significant positive correlation with the industrial agglomeration in the object region and its neighboring regions.Specifically, the industrial agglomeration in inner-geospatial environment not only exacerbates the local haze pollution, but also negatively affects air quality in the neighboring areas. From the view of decomposition results of the effect, the direct and indirect effects of industrial space agglomeration on the haze pollution are all positive, and the indirect effects are still higher than the direct ones. Finally, the relationship between urban industrial ownership and haze pollution is studied. With the help of Database of China’s Industrial Enterprises and the panel model,it is found that the level of the haze pollution decreases with the increasing of state-owned proportion in urban industries,no matter using output or asset size. Moreover, the rise of private ownership also significantly aggravates haze pollution in the region. In terms of sub-samples,the contraction of the state-owned sector along with the expansion of the private-owned sector can aggravate the haze pollution in both heavily and non-heavily polluting industries. The haze pollution is more obvious in the heavily polluting industries. |
