Non-circular section parts are special parts.Compared with traditional rotary section parts,non-circular section parts can effectively improve the performance of mechanical devices,but,its structure is more complex and manufacture is more difficult.Traditional manufacturing method has low processing efficiency and low quality,although it can realize non-circular section parts processing.This paper proposes a new machining method which comes from traditional machining method.It realizes angle compensation by adding an extra axis to the traditional turning process and it's controlled by EtherCAT bus.So it can ensure that the tool angle is constant during processing.This paper studies the machining control system of non-circular section parts.First of all,the multi-axis problem involved in the process,has been transformed into the single axis problem by kinematic inversion,and the linear motor used in the machining process has been modeled.Then,the hardware platform based on PMAC control structure and EtherCAT control structure is introduced,and the origin reset and system security are designed.Next,this paper introduces the multi-axis synchronization control strategy based on EtherCAT,and the control loop of the linear mechanism and the rotary mechanism has been designed,as well as the control software.Finally,the simulation experiments are carried out on the control loop of the linear mechanism,the rotating mechanism and the platform.By comparing the experiment results with the angle compensation and without the angle compensation,the design of the machining control system has been verified.By adjusting the tool angle in machining process,the five-axis non-circular platform keeps the tool angle constant and reduces the fluctuation of the cutting force.The constant cutting speed improves the machining efficiency and surface quality of the workpiece.Besides,the uniform cutter force helps prolong tool life.
