Cutting machine is mainly used for large-scale metallurgical microstructure of the sample of large interception, but also for other common materials, cutting, incision, etc..It is widely used in machinery, metallurgy, automobile, aerospace, mold and other areas of processing, mainly used for microstructure analysis of products and quality inspection, etc.. Metallography analysis process is an important device in one. Along with the development of science and technology, metallographic technology development with industrial development, metallographic cutting machine as one of metallography equipment, it's performance, function, appearance, cutting mode and so has made great progress. However, metallurgical samples for large-scale cutting machine is still not perfect, performance in a small product range, single function, such as cutting material single, not suitable for large-scale sample to achieve high quality and high automation of the interception. To meet the needs of industrial development, and to promote the development of metallurgical industry, metallographic cutter further large-scale structure and control system for work is urgent. This paper specifically for the roll of a metallurgical plant design Q-600 large-scale metallurgical sample cutting machine, briefed on the special requirements of the cutting ring of large roller test, block test sampling, analyzed the structural characteristics of the mechanical cutting machine and control system hardware components, etc., using Software Engineering to optimize its PLC control program and human computer interface system, and test the whole system a long time, essentially rule out software issues. In the study of grinding wheel cutting methods, made use of single neuron PID control theory is cutting feed speed control to achieve constant power cuts; also used in small PLC systems by programming the two-axis circular interpolation movement step system to realize a new way of cutting.Experiments show that: through the machine control system optimization of metallographic sample cutting, expande the scope of application of cutting machine, for the operator to provide a more secure and reliable operating environment, cutting feed speed automatic adjustment process, effectively reduce the amount of labor intensity, promote the development of China's metallurgical industry, which has a high application value.
