With the rapid development of wireless communication technology and digital electronic technology, wireless sensor network,WSN,has become a hot research field at present. With low cost, low power consumption and high reliability, wireless sensor network has been widely used in intelligence interception, environmental monitoring, traffic control, disaster prediction, and data acquisition and processing of precision agriculture.Due to the distributed environment awareness and the simply and flexible deployment of wireless sensor node,WSN becomes an important factor that influences our daily life.Because of the limited energy of wireless senor node, the requirements are proposed to prolong the life cycle of network, reduce the energy consumption and improve the efficiency of data transmission. Therefore, many researchers began to focus on the routing transmission protocol of improving network performance.Regarding the on-line monitoring system of the water quality security in large water area as background, this paper studied the routing algorithm of Optimal Energy Heterogeneous Adaptive Link,OEHAL.Water quality security is critical to people's physical and psychological health, social stability and national security. The issues of exceeding water quality security standards will directly threaten the safety of human life. Thus, the water quality parameters of rivers and lakes must be monitored online in real time.In this paper,a routing protocol of wireless sensor network which is suitable for large water area was designed with the network area of water quality monitoring planned in accordance with large water area, called the routing protocol of OEHAL based on PEGASIS.The main tasks are as follows:(1)The problems currently occurred in the routing protocol of wireless sensor network were analyzed and the selection characteristics of the routing protocol of node were studied based on the characteristics of wireless network node including the power consumption of nodes, the development of wireless sensor network and the stability of the routing protocol, etc. Some routing protocols of wireless senor network which are more general were summarized such as clustering routing protocol, link routing protocol and energy heterogeneous routing protocol and their network performances in network environment were also analyzed.(2)Optimal Energy Heterogeneous Adaptive Link,OEHAL,was put forward based on PEGASIS.The main included aspects are as follows.First, the routing transmission protocol of the large water area environment was analyzed and O EHAL algorithm is proposed, including the selection of the first node of the link, the dynamic construction and the network structure models of the algorithm etc.Second, the energy model of OEHAL was analyzed including the power consumption mode ls of data transmission among ordinary nodes, the power consumption models of data transmission between the node in the head of the chain and the base station,to further analyze the whole power consumption models of wireless sensor network.(3)By comparing the performances on the life cycle, the data quantity received in base station, stable period and network lifetime of LEACH protocol,PEGASIS protocol,EHMCA protocol and the protocol put forward in this paper,OEHAL,the superiority in the large water area environment of OEHAL was verified.(4)In accordance with the special environment of large water area,a set of water quality monitoring system suitable for large water area environment was designed. The system mainly consists of the design of hardware and software. The design of hardware included the nodes of sensor and so on.(5)At last, the simulation experiment was conducted to monitor the security of water quality online, build wireless sensor network and check the practicability and the stability of the O EHAL protocol.
