Cotton fabric with good mechanical properties,dyeing properties,hydrophilicity,deeply welcomed by consumers,widely used in the textile and clothing industry.Cotton fiber comes from nature and is the most widely used fiber source of household fabric by far.However,cotton fabric itself is vulnerable to bacterial contamination and no UV protection function.Therefore,antibacterial and UV resistant cotton fabrics have wide application prospects in functional textiles.The dyestuff uptake of cotton fabrics treated with some crosslinking agents will be improved,and the durability of dyeing,antibacterial and UV resistance of these cotton fabrics will also be improved,this is of great significance for the application and popularization of composite functional cotton fabrics.In this paper,new crosslinking agents,TGDE,GSJ,GDE,was first used in functional finishing of cotton fabrics.The new crosslinking agents were cross-linked to the cotton fabric at first,and then natural dyes were bonded to cross-linked fabric,which made the fabric have excellent composite function.The optimum crosslinking technology of the new crosslinking agents were determined by single factor experiment and orthogonal test.The cotton fabric before and after crosslinking / the cotton fabric dyed by pomegranate skin dye before and after crosslinking were characterized by scanning electron microscope and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy.It is found that the three crosslinking agents can be successfully crosslinked on the cotton fabric and play a positive role in the dyeing of cotton fabric with natural dyes.The thermal stability of raw cotton and three new cross-linked cotton fabrics were compared by TGthermogravimetric analysis,the results showed that there was no significant difference in the thermal stability of the cross-linked cotton fabric compared with the raw cotton,the thermal degradation temperatures of raw cotton,TGDE crosslinked cotton fabric,GSJ crosslinked cotton fabric,GDE crosslinked cotton fabric,citric acid crosslinked cotton fabric are as follows :306.23?,303.87?,303.67?,286.35?,272.77?.The whiteness test showed that crosslinking agent gsj had little effect on the whiteness of cotton fabric,while the others had a slight effect on the whiteness of cotton fabric.Recovery angle,breaking strength,elongation at break test found that,three new crosslinkers have little effect on these properties,but citric acid can double the recovery angle and double the breaking strength.The contact angle test showed that the fabric before and after finishing several cross-linking agents can absorb water droplets within 1s.Natural antimicrobial dyes of yellow line were screened by bacteriostasis method:rhubarb,pomegranate peel,alizarin and gallnut.The optimum dyeing process of cross-linked cotton fabrics with natural dyes was determined by single factor experiment and orthogonal test of p H,time,temperature,dye dosage and so on,dyeing of cotton fabrics before and after crosslinking with the best technology,and then testing the properties.The antibacterial and UV resistance properties of the dyed crosslinked fabric were tested,and found that: TGDE and GDE crosslinked cotton fabric were dyed with alizarin and pomegranate skin dyes,GSJ crosslinked cotton fabric dyed with Chinese gall,the bacteriostatic rate of Staphylococcus aureus was still higher than 75% after 50 times of standard household washing,which also meets the requirements of UV resistant textiles.The test of properties showed that the wet rubbing fastness and the color fastness to light of cotton fabric were improved by 0.5-1 grade after crosslinking dyeing,the fastness to washing of cross-linked dyed fabrics has also been greatly improved.Finally,the influence of crosslinking agent on cotton fabric dyed with synthetic dyes was preliminarily explored.Analysis of fabric dyed with synthetic dyes before and after Crosslinking by Fourier Flowlight found that,the crosslinking agent promoted the dyeing of cotton fabric with synthetic dyes.After testing the fastness to washing,rubbing and sun resistance of dyed fabrics before and after crosslinking,it was found that: the cotton fabric crosslinked by TGDE has the best effect on improving the fastness of direct black dye,and the cotton fabric crosslinked by GDE has the best effect on improving the fastness of active blue dye,citric acid has negative effects on dyeing of two synthetic dyes and fabric properties.
