In order to adapt to the market orientation of simplified high-efficacy cosmetics formulation and visualization, the interaction between thickener sodium polyacrylate(MV60,MAKIMOUSSE)and different types of surfactants which provides a significant reference for formulation with high suspension stability was studied. With apparent viscosity method, sodium polyacrylate/surfactant complex systems with synergetic effect were firstly selected and their rheological and microrheological behaviors and suspension stability were investigated.Main conclusions were obtained as follows:1)Effects of polymer content,pH,temperature on viscosity of cross-linked sodium polyacrylate(MV60)aqueous solution were clarified.0.5 wt.%was found to be the turning point of increasing rate(from slow to fast)of viscosity to content in MV60 aqueous solution. The viscosity of MV60 aqueous solution was greater when placed at 25? than at low or high temperature.Sodium polyacrylates(MV60,MAKIMOUSSE)were resistant to alkali, not to acid or salt(NaCl).2)Synergetic effects were found between MV60 and inulin lauryl carbamate,Rice Ferment, dimethyl distearylammonium chloride(TA100),PEG-20 methyl glucose sesquistearate(MSE-20),PEG-40 hydrogenated castor oil(RH-40),cetearyl glucoside(CG90),polyoxyethylene-21 stearol ether and between starch-grafted sodium polyacrylate(MAKIMOUSSE)and Rice Ferment,TA100,CG90.3)Rheological properties such as flow curve, thixotropy, yield stress, viscoelastic curve, relationship between viscosity, modulus and temperature of complex systems of sodium polyacrylate(MV60,MAKIMOUSSE)and 5 different surfactants(sucrose laurate,Rice Ferment,TA100,CG90,oleyl alcohol polyethoxylate phosphate)were obtained.MV60/Rice Ferment and MAKIMOUSSE/Rice Ferment complex systems were found to possess superior temperature resistance and stability which were verified by optical microrheology and suspension stability data. This work is expected to provide novel basic formulation for research and development of skin-care products and established characterization methodology of stability.
