Cotton is the most commonly used textiles in daily life because of its softness,breathability,low price and renewability,etc.However,cotton also provides an ideal environment for the growth of microorganisms due to its moisture absor:ption performance.Therefore,it is of great significance to develop a kind of cotton fabric with antibacterial property.As a rising nanomaterial,graphene is considered to have the potential to synthesize antibacterial materials.Firstly,silver nitrate was used as the precursor,graphene oxide as the carrier,sodium citrate as the stabilizer and reducing agent,and the microwave-assisted method was used to prepare graphene oxide/silver nanocomposites."With controlling the content of silver nitrate,the effects of different concentrations of graphene oxide on the antibacterial properties of the composites were investigated.And the antibacterial property,washing durability,tensile property and thermal stability of cotton fabric were tested.The results showed that the addition of silver nanoparticles greatly enhanced the antibacterial property of cotton fabric,but the washing durability,tensile property and thermal stability were reduced.In addition,GO nanosheets coated on the cotton fabric by radiation-induced crosslinking under the domestic microwave.Subsequently GO cotton was suffered ion bombardment with different dose of Fe ions.The surface morphology of GO and GO cotton was characterized by SEM,AFM,FTIR and Raman analysis.E.coli and S.aureus were selected as experimental bacteria.Compared with the untreated GO coated on cotton fabrics,the ion implanted GO cotton showed higher antibacterial activity for Gram-negative bacteria.However,this material has no antibacterial activity against Gram-positive bacteria,the antibacterial acti'vity is selective.The antibacterial mechanism of GO cotton is the sharp edges and surfaces of GO nanosheets lead to rupture of cell membranes which was speculated by transmission electron microscopy.GO-cotton still has good water durability after 60 times washing.In general,this study provided two methods for the modification and preparation of GO antibacterial materials and prepared a cotton with excellent mechanical,thermal,antibacterial and washing durability,which may facilitate the development of GO based antimicrobial with respect to selective antibacterial field for Gram-negative bacteria and provide a theoretical basis for the multi-function of textiles.
