In the rubber industry,a large amount of filler is required as a compounding agent,and the filler not only improves the strength of the rubber,but also improves the processing property of the rubber,and imparts excellent wear resistance,tear resistance,heat resistance and cold resistance to the rubber.The most common fillers are carbon black,followed by silica,calcium carbonate,clay and the like.Among them,white carbon black can reinforce rubber in place of carbon black in colored rubber products,and the surface of white carbon black has hydroxyl groups,which can be modified,and white carbon black has become a research object of researchers.Coupling agents are rubber additives that improve the interfacial properties of rubber and inorganic fillers.The coupling agent can reduce the inorganic filler/rubber viscosity,improve the dispersibility of the filler,and enhance the processability.The second chapter uses two methods to modify white carbon black.The epoxy resin directly modifies the white carbon black,that is,the direct modification of the white carbon black.And the epoxy resin is chemically grafted by KH-550,that is,the white carbon black is indirectly modified.Direct modification of white carbon black by infrared(FTIR),thermogravimetry(TG),contact angle,viscosity,electron microscopy(SEM)and other tests proved that the modification was successful.The contact angle of the modified white carbon black becomes larger,the viscosity becomes smaller,the contact angle increases from 0oto107.69o,the viscosity decreases from 96.73Pa·s to 10.43Pa·s,and the modified white carbon black becomes hydrophobic.The indirect modification of silica was confirmed by FTIR,TG,contact angle,viscosity,SEM,etc.The contact angle was changed from 0o to 124.69o,and the viscosity decreased from 96.73Pa·s to 9.85Pa·s.The modified silica has good hydrophobicity and may have better wettability with rubber.In this experiment,modified silica was also filled into rubber for research.In the third chapter,the direct modified white carbon black is filled into the emulsion polybutylene(ESBR)by liquid phase mixing.In liquid phase mixing,the modified silica is completely demulsified into the ESBR.In the fourth chapter,the indirect modified white carbon black is filled into the ESBR by liquid phase mixing,and the modified white carbon black enters the ESBR during demulsification.The indirect modified white carbon black/ESBR obtained good mechanical properties,wet skid resistance,abrasion and processing properties.The tensile strength increased by 36.8% compared with the control silica/milk polybutylene,the Mooney viscosity decreased by 21.1%,the wet skid increased by 58.1%,and the abrasion decreased by66.9%.In the fifth chapter,the indirect modified white carbon black is filled into the solution polystyrene(SSBR)by liquid phase mixing.The modified white carbon black is precipitated in the rubber during the precipitation,and the modified white carbon is modified.Black/SSBR also achieved good wet skid resistance,abrasion and processing properties.The wet skid resistance has been greatly improved,increasing by 29.4%.The wear was changed from 0.30 to 0.18,which was reduced by 40.0%.Mooney viscosity is greatly reduced.
