With the development of economic and the improvement of people's lives,the influence of haze has intensified,which has seriously harmed people's health and affected people's daily lives.As one of the main sources,urban road dust is widely controlled by watering,however,suffering from short duration and water waste.Therefore,it is urgent to design long-lasting,eco-friendly and cost effective dust suppressant materials.Up to now,the absent of uniform standards for the detection of dust suppressants makes it difficult to compare different materials and provides effective guidance.In view of the above problems,this paper starts from the characteristics of atmospheric particulate matter in several representative regions of China,follows by determining the appropriate dust test standards,then builds a detection method to guide the screening and synergistic effect of dust suppressant materials,aiming at developing suitable dust suppressant formulations,and ends by the synthesis of the products by in-situ polymerization.The corresponding dust suppressant evaluation method was established according to the main performance of water retention,adhesive,wear resistant and wetting,using Arizona A2 dust as the standard test dust.Magnesium sulfate and carboxymethocel(CMC)show better water retention effect from the selected dust suppressant materials,and CMC,polyvinyl alcohol(PVA),polyacrylamide(PAM)and sodium lignosulfonate(SL)stand out in adhesion and wear resistance,however,high molecular weight will prolong the wetting time of the solution.We found that the combination of magnesium sulfate,CMC and PAM has synergistic dust suppression ability.Orthogonal experiments show the combination of 3%magnesium sulfate,1.5%CMC and 1.5%PAM has the best dust suppression performance with 16.1%water retention,1.86 MPa compression strength,29 mg wear mass and 1500 s wetting time.In-situ RAF F polymerization strategy was used to synthesize a composite dust suppression materials,containing magnesium sulfate,CMC and PAM.The acrylamide was highly converted enabled by the living polymerization.And our products have better wear resistant and wetting properties comparing with the physical mixture.The newly established detection method according to the main performance indicators of the dust suppressant provides a basis for the evaluation and development of high-efficiency dust suppressant.And the synergistic law among the dust suppression materials provides a theoretical guidance of dust suppressant development.
