Study On Dyeing Properties Of Natural Dyes On Linen/Cotton Fabrics

Natural dyes are environmentally friendly which are renewable biological resources with a long history.The linen/cotton fabric is blended with natural cellulose wool and hemp.So the use of natural dyes to dye linen/cotton fabrics and the development of pure natural textiles meets the needs of eco-textile development.The study optimized the modification process of the cationic modifier 2,3-epoxypropyltrimethylammonium chloride on the linen/cotton fabrics by padding method.The optimum process conditions were as follows:modifier concentration 16 g/L,baking temperature was 160 0 C and the baking time was 150 s.The cationic modification can greatly improve the apparent color yield of the linen/cotton fabric and improve the dye uptake rate.It also has no obvious influence on the surface color of the fabric.The dyeing process conditions of natural dyed cochineal red,chestnut shell pigment and red rice red pigment were optimized for the linen/cotton fabrics modified by 2,3-epoxypropyltrimethylammonium chloride.The optimum dyeing conditions were:dye bath pH=5.7,dyeing temperature was 80?.Using 2%owf natural pigment dyeing,the K/S value of the red rice red dyed fabric reached a maximum of 2.16;the K/S value of the cochineal red dyed fabric reached 5.61 and the K/S value of the chestnut shell dyed fabric reached 5.17.After treatment with Fe2+,Al3+ mordant,the soaping fastness,rubbing fastness and light fastness of most of the fabrics had different degrees of improvement compared to direct dyeing.The modification of the linen/cotton fabric with the cationic modifier MORDIENTE DEL was beneficial to the dyeing of the fabric by the natural pigment.The optimum amount of cationic modifier MORDIENTE DEL was 2 g/L.The properties of sedge pigment,safflower yellow pigment,chlorophyll copper sodium salt pigment,pomegranate pigment,tea polyphenol pigment,chestnut shell pigment,and cochineal red dyed hemp cotton fabric were tested.The study tested formaldehyde content,pH value,banned aromatic amine dye,heavy metal,phthalate,burning performance,color fastness,UV protection,air permeability,moisture permeability,tear strength,breaking strength,drape coefficient,antistatic and K/S value indicators.7 kinds of natural dyed cotton and linen fabrics fully meet the requirements of GB18401-2010?National Textile Products Basic Safety Technical Specifications?in the requirements of adult textiles and clothing regulations,It basically meets the requirements stipulated in GB 31701-2015?Safety Technical Specifications for Infants and Children's Textile Products?.
