In this thesis,fatty alcohol polyoxyethylene ether sulfate with narrow ethylene oxide distribution?N-AEmS,m=3,5,7,9?were synthesized by sulphating fatty alcohol polyoxyethylene ether with narrow ethylene oxide distribution?N-AEmO,m=3,5,7,9?and neutralizing with NaOH.The properties of N-AEmS?m=3,5,7,9?and its mixture with TTAB were investigated,as well as the phase behavior of N-AEmS/TTAB?m=3,5,7,9?mixtures.The aqueous surfactant two-phase systems?ASTP?formed by the N-AE5S/TTAB mixture and the application of ASTP in protein extraction were also studied.The main works are as follows:?1?Preparation and characterization of N-AEmS?m=3,5,7,9?.N-AEmS?m=3,5,7,9?were obtained by sulphating N-AE3O with gas SO3 and sulfating N-AEmO?m=5,7,9?with chlorosulfuric acid and neutralizing with NaOH.Then the structure of N-AEmS?m=3,5,7,9?was characterized by FT-IR spectra and 1HNMR spectra.The results indicated that the N-AEmS?m=3,5,7,9?were successfully synthesized.?2?Properties of N-AEmS?m=3,5,7,9?.The surface activity,diffusion property,spreading property,emulsifying property and salt tolerance of N-AEm S?m=3,5,7,9?were systematically studied by measuring the static surface tension,dynamic surface tension,dynamic contact angle etc.The results indicated that the critical micelle concentration?cmc?and the amount of saturated adsorption(?max)decreases with increasing the number of EO groups,while the?cmc and pC20 increases as the number of EO groups increases.The salt tolerance and emulsifying property of N-AEm S?m=3,5,7,9?increases with increasing the number of EO groups,but the emulsifying property of N-AE9S is lower than that of N-AEmS?m=3,5,7?due to severe entanglement of EO chains in N-AE9S.When the concentration of N-AEmS?m=3,5,7,9?was lower than cmc,the EO groups act as hydrophobic group to affect the diffusion property and spreading property of N-AEmS?m=3,5,7,9?.When the concentration was higher than cmc,the EO groups act as hydrophilic group to affect diffusion property of N-AEmS?m=3,5,7,9?.?3?Properties of N-AE3S and AE3S.According to the results of static surface tension,dynamic surface tension,dynamic contact angle,emulsifying properties and salt tolerance.it was indicated that surface activity spreading ability and emulsifying properties of N-AE3S is better than AE3S.However,N-AE3S and AE3S have similar salt tolerance.?4?Properties of N-AEmS/TTAB?m=3,5,7,9?mixtures.The properties of N-AEmS/TTAB?m=3,5,7,9?mixtures were studied by measuring static surface tension,dynamic surface tension and dynamic contact angle.The results indicated that when the concentration was lower than cmc,the properties of N-AEmS/TTAB?m=3,5,7,9?mixetures were not improved,and even spreading ability and diffusion ability of the mixtures were lower than the single component.When the concentration was higher than cmc,the properties of mixtures are improved compared with the single component.?5?The phase behaviors of N-AEmS/TTAB?m=3,5,7,9?mixtures.The microstructures of N-AEmS/TTAB?m=3,5,7,9?mixtures were observed by transmission electron microscopy?TEM?.The results indicated that the aggregate morphology of N-AEmS/TTAB?m=3,5,7?mixtures is spherical,rod,spherical aggregates with the number of EO groups increasing,when the concentration and molar ratio were fixed at 1.0×10-1 mol/L and 4:6,respectively.However,no aggregates were found in the N-AE9S/TTAB mixture.?6?Formation mechanism and application of ASTP of N-AE5S/TTAB mixture.By observing the ASTP formed in the N-AE5S/TTAB mixture under different concentration and molar ratio,it is founded that the formation of ASTP is caused by the further aggregation of the rod-like aggregates to form the cross-linked net aggregates by hydrophobic interaction.The BSA in the aqueous solution can be separated and purified by ASTP.The extraction yield could reach to 66.1%,when the concentration of the mixture is6.0×10-22 mol/L and the molar ratio is 4.2:5.8,respectively.
