Research On The Impact Of Environmental Regulation Of Western Resource-based Cities On Economic Growth

With the continuous development of energy resources in western resource-based cities,more and more ecological and environmental problems have begun to appear,and its sustained economic growth has been severely tested.Exploring how to achieve sustained economic growth through environmental regulation is crucial for the longterm development of resource-based regions in western China.In this context,this paper takes into account technological innovation and industrial structure upgrading to study the impact of environmental regulation on economic growth.This paper firstly combs the mechanism of the impact of environmental regulation on economic growth,and finds that environmental regulation mainly affects economic growth through technological innovation and industrial structure upgrading.After that,the status quo of economic development and environmental regulation of 37 prefecturelevel resource-based cities in the west was analyzed.It can be found through analysis that in recent years,the economic growth rate of western resource-based cities is faster,but the per capita GDP is generally lower than the national level.It still belongs to the extensive economic growth model;the level of environmental regulation is gradually strengthened,but overall it is still weaker than other parts of the country.On the basis of the previous article,through empirical analysis,the overall effect and mediating effect of environmental regulation on economic growth are tested.It is concluded that:(1)the overall effect of environmental regulation on economic growth is significant,and reasonable environmental regulation can promote economic growth;(2)the mediating effect of technological innovation is not significant,because the environmental regulation of western resource-based cities is relatively loose,pollution The cost is lower,and the cost of technological innovation is higher.Compared with the two,the company lacks the motivation for technological innovation.(3)The industrial structure upgrade can play a positive intermediary effect of 38%.Through environmental regulation,the industrial structure can be upgraded and promoted.Economic growth;(4)Labor,capital,and opening up all play a positive role in the economic growth of western resource-based cities.Based on this,this paper puts forward corresponding policy recommendations from three aspects: improving environmental regulation,promoting technological innovation,and accelerating industrial transformation and upgrading,with a view to promoting the coordinated development of environment and economy in resourcebased regions in the west.
