The petroleum product is one of the most important strategic resources. With the progress and development of industrial technology, the global consumption of the lubricating oil is increasing year by year. Therefore,as the fastest developing country in the world,China's demand and consumption of the lubricating oil have also risen year after year. The huge consumption of the lubricating oil also led to the production of a lot amount of waste oil. However, the waste oil is a very important renewable resource from economic or environment,so the regeneration of waste oil is an imperative study at present.Compared with developed countries, the regeneration of waste oil in China has some disadvantages such as large output of waste oil, difficulty in collecting and backward regeneration technology. Thus, based on the current situation of China and combining with the current regeneration technologies of waste oil, this paper conducts a study on the composition of waste oil and the new-type and environment-friendly regeneration technology of waste oil. This study is mainly divided into two parts to study the compositions and regeneration processes of waste rolling oil.The compositions analysis of waste rolling oil.The waste rolling oil is a complex and difficult to treat mixture,so separation of the components from waste rolling oil by column chromatography.Firstly, using the eluents to wash the waste, the polarities of the eluents were from weak to strong. After that, the collection solution was classified and sorted out. Then, the products were detected and analysed by FTIR and NMR.The products were divided into five categories, and its molecular weight by to small order greatly for: E> D> C> B> A.The A components are alkanes only;the B component are aromatic hydrocarbons;the C and D components are colloids and asphaltenes;the E components are solid impurities. For the regeneration processes of waste rolling oil.Waste rolling oil can be regenerated by inorganic flocculation-adsorption.In this study, ferric hydroxide Fe(OH)3 colloid prepared by the double decomposition reaction of Fe Cl3 and Na OH was selected as an inorganic flocculant.Fly ash, kaolin, activated carbon, clay and silica gel were used as adsorbents to treat the WRO.Effects of dosage of flocculants and adsorbents, refining time and temperature on the transmittance and kinematic viscosity of the recycled oil were investigated. Results indicated that the recycled oil achieved optimum quality under the following conditions: flocculation time,6 min;temperature,60 °C;adsorption time,20 min;and mass ratios of Fe Cl3-to-WRO,Na OHto-Fe Cl3 and fly ash-to-WRO of 0.10,3 and 0.03,respectively.Under these conditions, the physical properties of the recycled oil have been significantly improved. The 40°C kinematic viscosity was decreased from 9.224 to 8.782mm2/s.And the flash point and pour point were decreased from 160.5 to 155.7°C and-28.5 to-31.0°C,respectively.Meanwhile,this inorganic flocculation-adsorption process achieved no acid,no organic solvent, efficient and environmentally friendly waste oil regeneration goals.
