The light crude oil at L area,C oilfield are produced in the form of an emulsion containing associated oil and water which needs to be separated before dispatch to end user,and include large dosage and high dehydration temperature.A series of experiments on low-temperature demulsifies were implemented by using five samples of crude oil emulsion from L region area,these samples named as A,B,C,D and E stations.Optimum temperature and the best concentration have been determined for the optimization of demulsification agent.Chemical demulsification is most widely used technology to break the emulsions.In this study,a Bottle test method was used to screen a series of experiments on low-temperature commercial demulsifiers,to investigate the effect of water content,temperature and demulsifier concentration on the demulsification performance.Mechanism of low-temperature demulsifier was studied by using spinning drop interfacial tensiometer,to define interfacial tension between the crude oil and demulsifier solution with considering the concentration.Turbiscan stability analyzer was used to study the effect of water content,temperature,and demulsifier concentration on emulsion stability.Commercial demulsifiers AR102,AR901,PR929 and PRC06 were selected as the most efficient low-temperature emulsion breakers.For single demulsifiers,PRC06 was chosen to be the best at 40~oC,and optimal concentration was 200mg/L,dehydration rate was 99.51%.After doing double/combination demulsifier,the best demulsifier selected were AR102+E and AR902+E demulsifiers with ratios 1:1 and 2:1.Optimal temperature was 40~oC for both demulsifiers and concentration of 100mg/L and 200mg/L within 2 hours the dehydration rate were 97.09%and 100%,respectively.This study can also be used to reduce the production cost and save energy greatly.
