As an essential part of education system,the development of preschool education has aroused great concerns in China.Relevant design research targeting at preschoolers aim to create activities meet their emotional needs through product functions and corresponding service,based on specific behaviorAdequate creation activities facilitate the growth of children,where they are able to express feelings,release emotion and personality,as well as explore the surroundings and gain knowledge that enrich their experience through the specific mediate.The art works are valuable for the assessment of development state'Play5 is indispensable for child development,as well as the main content of Developmentally Appropriate Practice(DAP).Preschool education is based on the inherent play skills.The perspective about 'Play5 distinguished contemporary preschool education from the traditional system.Children are driven by intrinsic motivation when playing According to Bateson(1955,2000),children exchange information with each other through meta-communication in a playframe.They also establish social relationships and try to comprehend in a scenarioThe concept 'Emotional Design' is enlightened by cognitive psychology,including Emotional Design Model by Donald.Norman,Kansei Engineering,Theories of product personality and Technology as.Experience Framework.Emotional design have brought a revolution so called 'Design for Emotion(DfE)'.This field of research have become extensive and intensive where relative research methods are getting more and more diverse recent years Nonetheless,the existing research in emotional design are related to consumption market,targeting adult customers.While less of them involve preschool education nor preschoolers This situation provides certain opportunities in cross-over designAccording to the result of Chapter 2 and 3,design analysis was set in line with following methods:Deconstruction of the phenomenon 'child' according to child development,drawing and play(user perspective)?Create dynamic using experience(service mode)? Set up the play value(concrete production).Supported by existing research in TUI,haptic feedback,the final design program was aimed to provide children with dynamic emotional experience,as well as facilitate their social communicationThis design program mentioned in Chapter 5 put forward a possibility for preschool education,combining the emerging interactive technology into art lessons.This research also expanded emotional design theory by reversal theory and other interdisciplinary study,leading to a innovative design method more appropriate for preschoolers and differ from former research.The future work is going to explore the Ambient Intelligence(AMI)and edutainment design for preschoolers.
