Rare-earth butadiene rubber is a synthetic rubber of regular structure which is synthesized by polymerization of butadiene in the presence of rare-earth catalyst.It has better characteristics than the traditional rubbers containing lithium,titanium,cobalt,and nickel in abrasion resistance,fatigue resistance,heat build-up,rolling resistance,resistance to wetness and slippery,etc.Research and development of high performance synthetic rubber plays an important role in increasing our country's degree of self-sufficiency and competitiveness.In this article,rare-earth butadiene rubber samples with different structures were prepared through developing new catalyst preparation process and the polymer synthetic process,and their properties were investigated.The experimental results show that tombarthite homogeneous catalyst has the features of stable phase,high activity,and a wide regulation range of cis-1,4 structure,etc.When the content of the polymer's cis-1,4 structure and the Mooney viscosity are close,the mechanical property of the polymer are increased with the narrowing of molecular weight distribution.When the molecular weight distribution of the polymer is close to its Mooney viscosity,the mechanical property of the polymer are increased with the cis-1,4 structure's content.Additionally rare-earth butadiene rubber with narrow molecular weight distribution and high content of cis-1,4 structure has excellent mechanical property.Furthermore,rare-earth butadiene rubber of different constructions observes that the performance of fatigue resistance,heat build-up,and abrasion resistance are inclined to promote along with the increase in the content of cis-1,4 structure.
