Myanmar China crude oil pipeline is the fourth energy corridor of our country.The construction and commissioning of such pipeline could solve the problem of the oil and gas shortage in south-west part of China.The pipeline plays an important role for national energy security and people's living quality.The terrain along the Myanmar China crude oil pipeline is complex and the elevation difference is huge,along with the adverse geographical conditions,the consequence of accident is severe.But the research of operation risk evaluation of the pipeline is not sufficient.Thus,analyzing the risks on operation of the pipeline by combining the pipeline route and process characteristics is quite essential for safe and stable operation in the long run.The paper will use fault tree as analysis method to analyze the operation risk of Myanmar-China crude oil pipeline.To start with,the pipeline would be divided into 3 sections(oceanic trench section,mountain area section,flatland section)and drawing the relevant fault tree tables.By conducting qualitative analysis,the minimal cut set could be calculated and the stage of minimal cut set will be analyzed to identify the essential risk factors.Meanwhile,the quantitative analysis would also be conducted.The probability of basic event,pipeline malfunction and the importance value of basic events would also be calculated.By performing the qualitative analysis and the quantitative analyze,the main risk factors of the operation of Myanmar China crude oil pipeline would be concluded and the solutions would be discussed according to the analysis result to improve the risk management of the pipeline.
