Supported metal compound mercury removal adsorbent is the key research direction of natural gas mercury-removing process in the future.Alumina carrier can overcome the shortcomings of activated carbon and enhance the selective mercury-removing adsorbent,which is widely used in natural gas containing liquid hydrocarbon,water and other impurities.Mercury pollution is very serious in natural gas processing as well as in the using process of downstream users,so removing from natural gas sources can effectively reduce the harm of mercury on subsequent process equipment,at the same time,reasonable selection of mercury removal adsorbents is very important to the mercury removal process,and metallic compounds modified mercury removal adsorbents have a lot of advantages which make themselves to be more development potential in the natural gas mercury removing technology.In this paper,a set of laboratory grade natural gas mercury removal performance evaluation experimental device was designed and built,and the mercury removal characteristics and influencing factors of metallic compounds modified carrier alumina such as copper oxide,copper chloride and iron chloride were studied.In this paper,a series of CuO/Al2O3 mercury removal adsorbents were prepared with copper oxide as the active component.The influences of the preparation conditions on the mercury removal properties of CuO/Al2O3 were optimized by orthogonal experiment.The experimental results show that the experimental results of single impregnation and secondary impregnation are keeping the same variation trend basically,but the adsorption property of mercury removal adsorbents prepared by single impregnation is better than the secondary impregnation.The order of mercury removal adsorbents performance is that B?Impregnation time?>D?Calcination time?>A?Impregnation ratio?>C?Impregnation temperature?>E?Calcination temperature?,and the breakthrough adsorption capacity should be as higher as possible,and the preparation conditions of supported CuO/Al2O3 mercury removal adsorbents is that 40ml:20g for impregnation ratio,6h for impregnation time,2h for calcination time,60?for impregnation temperature and 500?for calcination temperature.In addition,supported CuO/Al2O3 mercury removal adsorbents were further modified with ammonium sulfide solution and the experimental results show that the mercury adsorption capacity of the new mercury removal adsorbents was improved obviously.In order to promote the catalytic oxidation of elemental mercury,a series of supported CuCl2/Al2O3 mercury removal adsorbents were prepared by using the oxidation characteristics of transition metal element copper and halogen Cl.The experimental results show that the mecury removal performance of the supported CuCl2/Al2O3 mercury removal adsorbents first increased and then decreased with the increase of the impregnation solution concentration,impregnation time and imprenation temperature.And the impregnation ratio has little impact on the mercury removal performanceof this kind adsorbents,so the best preparation conditions for supported CuCl2/Al2O3 mercury removal adsorbents are that 10wt%for impregnating solution concentration,6h for impregnation time,60?for impregnation temperature and60ml:20g for impregnation ratio.According to the analysis of XRD and XPS characterization data,the mercury removal performance of supported CuCl2/Al2O3 mercury removal adsorbents was mainly achieved by catalytic oxidation of Hg0 to Hg2+by the precursor Cu2Cl?OH?3.In order to further efficiently remove mercury,a series of FeCl3/Al2O3 mercury removal adsorbents were prepared with the strong oxidation ability of Fe3+,and the effects of the factors impregnation solution concentration,the impregnation temperature and impregnation time of the mercury removal performance and the mechanism of supported FeCl3/Al2O3 adsorbents were studied.According to the discussion of the experimental results,the mercury removal performance of supported FeCl3/Al2O3 adsorbents was first increased and then decreased with the rise of the impregnation solution concentration,the rise of the impregnation temperature and the extension of the impregnation time,and the best preparation conditions of the supported FeCl3/Al2O3 mercury removal adsorbents were that 10wt%for impregnation solution concentration,12h for impregnation time and about 50?for impregnation temperature.Without changing the properties of the original impregnation solution,CuCl2 was added to improve the mercury removal performance,and the optimal mass ratio of the FeCl3&CuCl2 in the impregnation solution was 4:3.
