With the rapid development of China's economy and the gradual maturity of urbanization, the problem of resource shortage and environmental pollution caused by extensive economic growth has become increasingly prominent. How to achieve the transformation of the green development model within the constraints of ecological boundaries is an urgent issue.Green development is a sustainable development model that promotes economic, social, and environmental coordination, with the fundamental purpose of improving people's well-being.The efficiency of ecological welfare performance as a natural ecological input to transform social welfare can measure the degree of urban green development. At present, domestic and foreign scholars' research on ecological welfare performance mostly focuses on the definition of conceptual connotation and extension, the measurement of performance values at the national or regional level, and the analysis of influencing factors. There are few studies on efficiency measurement and spatial relationship analysis at the city level. This paper adds spatial factors to explore the characteristics of the spatiotemporal evolution of ecological welfare performance of cities in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River economic belt and analyzes the influencing factors, hoping to make up for the lack of existing research. This article reviews the current research results of ecological efficiency and ecological welfare performance.Based on the definition of the concept of ecological welfare and ecological welfare performance,it integrates the theory of ecological economic balance, sustainable development theory, and the feasibility of Amartya Sen.Theoretical analysis is carried out theoretically, and a multi-perspective lays the theoretical foundation for the study of urban ecological welfare performance. The super-efficient SBM model with undesired output is selected as the research method to measure the urban ecological welfare performance of the economic belt in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River from 2008 to 2017.At the provincial level and the city level, perform performance value difference analysis, combined with the ESDA analysis method,to explore the spatial pattern distribution and spatial correlation analysis of urban ecological welfare performance; Finally, rely on the spatial measurement theory, and take ecological welfare performance as the explanatory variable. With economic openness and technological progress as the core explanatory variables,a spatial dubin model(SDM)with fixed time effect was used to study the influencing factors of urban ecological welfare performance in the middle Yangtze River economic belt. The paper explores the characteristics and influencing factors of spatial and temporal differentiation of ecological welfare performance of cities in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River economic belt, and draws the following main conclusions:It is found that the overall performance value of the study area is not high but it is on the rise.Jiangxi Province 2014-2017 Annual performance values continue to decline, and there are significant differences in the changes in ecological welfare performance trends at the city level.ESDA analysis finds that the spatial distribution of urban ecological welfare performance has a "central collapse" phenomenon,high-performance agglomerations have undergone regional shifts, and spatial autocorrelation analysis suggests that urban performance values Spatial heterogeneity, but it has become dependent in recent years;the spatial panel regression analysis of influencing factors suggests that economic openness and economic scale can promote urban ecological welfare performance, and the scale effects of economic opening up have an impact on urban ecological welfare The positive effect of performance is obvious, while technological progress, industrial structure, and population density have an inhibitory effect on the performance of urban ecological welfare, and the negative effect of technological progress may fall into the "technological innovation dilemma".
